It doesn't happen often with our relatives, but my DH's Dad just rings the bell and opens the door and walks in.
Just once I'd like him to walk in on something he "shouldn't see", then maybe he'd learn to ring the bell and wait!!
A few years ago I lost my job a week before Christmas and was very depressed for awhile, and I remember my friend just dropping in unannounced at 9:00 in the morning. That in itself wasn't so bad, she's my friend so I don't really care if she sees the house a mess and me without a shower, but she brought one of her friends along that I had never met!! Yikes!! I was so embarrassed, but more upset with her that she hadn't called to warn me. She lives over an hour away, so it would have been nice to have some warning since she was bringing someone with her. I could have at least had time to shower, and pick up the worst of the mess!!
