Thank you for writing this. It has made me think and made me cry even more.
Your right I need to just let it be. I'll be sure to let the kid knows when he's older that his daddy picked it out even though I didn't like it but his daddy was thinking of him and wanted to buy him something special.

You are so welcome! As you can tell by what he bought them, it took me YEARS to learn this lesson (he had "spoiled" them many times, and each time he'd get an earful, until this time...)

It has now become somewhat of a joke...they go out with him, and when they come home, they mischievously say to each other in fake whispers, "Don't let mama know what daddy bought us!" and I have to put on a big show of how daddy is in trouble.

OP, glad you are feeling better but I do get that it's frustrating when you make a point about something & DH seems to totally ignore your thoughts. Especially when he picks the one thing that you really hate!

I agree though, he probably remembered Pooh & forgot all else. DH in my house is not known for remembering any sort of details! Congrats on the baby!!

I have a feeling that your husband doesn't differentiate between Classic and modern Pooh.He just heard Pooh,and he's probably pleased as punch that he remembered that you love Pooh.Men don't tend to keep that kind of detail in their heads.He was obviously thinking of you,and thought that you'd be pleased.

All too true! Men know you like something, but don't remember which one. At least my DH doesn't. I really wanted a Purple Punch Vera Bradley purse. He was SO proud to get me a Night Owl duffel. And you know what? I acted like I loved it to make him happy. It's worn on me over time and I like it now. He meant well, and that's what matters.

BTW, I love classic pooh. And good luck with the pregnancy. Soon, once the baby is here, you'll realize that you really don't have control over everything. Life is short, and time with a newborn is hard at first... I don't even remember my DD's first two weeks. Enjoy the ride.
