If you are an hourly employee anything "mandatory" or "basically mandatory" must be paid (in EVERY state, right to work or not Zero rights don't allow them to violate labor laws LOL!)
So keep track. Call your Dept of Labor and complain. They LOVE to investigate these cases.
And "paying attention to the details" Ummm..
I am "the boss" for a lot of folks.
1. I don't know or care where they go to the bathroom
2. I don't know or care what thier "nickname" is and would NEVER presume to give them one.
3. I generally don't know or care if they celebrate Christmas and would NEVER presume to decorate their space. (I do give "holiday gift cards"
)
4. When I take them out to lunch, I pay
