Vendor Meals???

When I was originally going to do a vendor meal, I beleive it was around $15, and it was a "deli plate". I didn't end up doing it, but if I would have, I probably would have just spent the money to get them the meal we were having.

ok so I thought this would eat up some of the money we have to spend...but doesn't look like that will work either...LOL

My vendor meal was $13.95 plus tax so in total like $18. I don't know what it was but Randy seemed fine with it.

I ordered my vendors the same meal the guests had. I did not think a sandwich was acceptable for someone who would be working 8-10 hours. Also, 2 of my vendors were vegetarians so I am so glad I asked beforehand.

i'm kind of torn on this one. the vendor meals are inexpensive and was called "a deli plate". my photog sad they didn't need one, but let the planner know we didn't mind if they had something off the buffett. honestly, i think there is more than enough food for my 2-3 vendors to nibble and not short a guest. plus they don't sit down, don't need to be "waited on" in any way, and i trust them to be discreet as to their nibling. i think if i say this to my planner, they will say "fine" and charge me the guest PP charge for them which i don't want!!

so do i get the deli plate?

i for one - a person who has always bought movers lunch or drinks etc - still do not get why i HAVE to feed any vendors!! i mean, my work doesn't feed me! and when i go to work, i plan for whether or not i can eat and how!! how many evndors are working for more than say 5 hours - even a band? i mean i know there isn't a place for people to store their lunch per se but..... i don't know why that annoys me so much!! probably because i would ALWAYS offer people food and drink anyway!!!

My wedding was back in the day, but when we asked our planner said
pay for the deli plate we give them what your guests have
it might have been a location thing or just my planner but sounded good to me

Think of it this way. Do you want your vendors worrying about their paperbag lunch, where then left it, if it needs to be refridgerated, have low blood sugar and forget some of the shots that you really wanted or what happens if then lost it? OR would you rather they worry about your day, you, and your wants.

If you already offer movers, vendors etc lunch or drinks then this really should not be a problem.

Good to know! Thanks

it isn't a problem, i'm just saying that when i go to work for 8 or more hours i don't worry about a refrigerator or food because i work everyday and i've been working for years and if, god forbid, i miss a meal, i'm a professional and a grown up and i won't make others around me miserable because i haven't eaten !! pirate: but thats all just my personal vent - it just seems like its a really industry specific requirement and i guess i always think my hours are typically wayyyyy longer than vendors or musicians (I work in an OR)!!

i think maybe it is the case that we would pay the vendor fee but they can have something off the buffett - maybe that's what my photog was meaning? i'm going to try and do that!! i'll ask at the PS!
