Okay, so we are doing a DTD (very small) vow renewal and I think I need a another vendor for flowers. I found one that has done the same location and she had 2 centerpieces, 2 pedestals, flower pedals for flower girl, runner to walk on and bouquet with boutonniere. I need some opinions. Does this sound like a rip off?

2 center pieces - $125
2 square vases- $20 a piece and they need to be returned
2 short pedestals rental - $75 a for each
Short runner - $75
I haven't even gotten the price for the bouquet or boutonniere.

I just don't get why I have to pay for vases and then return them. What am I supposed to do with my flower center pieces? I feel like I am getting ripped off. Those pedestals would be understandable if they were $75 together but each?

Any other vendors out there that you could suggest or does this sound about right?

Thanks,
Sonja

Honestly, I think the rates are average. You could always save a bit more buying a few things yourself.

I grew up with family in the flower industry (my grandmother was a florist that specialized in weddings, and my dad works for a flower networking company) and anytime you're talking a wedding or a vow renewal, there is a substantial mark-up.

Most florists will charge for a container rental, but sometimes you have the option of providing your own containers if you can get them to the florist beforehand. That would save you some money. In this instance it sounds like they're planning on using more than a standard vase, so you could possibly just look into getting a few arrangements through a flower networking company (teleflora, ftd, 1-800-flowers) and use those as centerpieces, which would be much cheaper.

As for the runner I would suggest looking on etsy and also providing your own. I know you can get one for less than $75 on etsy. Etsy also has a ton of really cute silk flower arrangements which are pretty affordable.

Thanks for the info. I actually spoke to the vendor that normally does the flowers for the company we are going through for our VR. She quoted me half of what the other vendor did and she does not require her vases back. LOL

Thanks,
Sc
