I'm staying at HRH at the end of September and noticed Bret Michaels (Poison lead singer/reality tv star) will be playing the Velvet Sessions on site. Has anybody bought tickets to any concert there and is it really worth upgrading to VIP tickets, seeing the venue is small and anywhere seems like good viewing spot. Finally they mention specialty drinks included with ticket purchase. What type of drinks are these?

We'll be at Hard Rock that date also. We have been there in the past during a Velvet Session. I don't think upgrading is necessary. It's a small venue. They pass around free specialty drinks and they also have drink stations. Last time it was vanilla coke and vodka and another vodka drink, cant remember. One other time it was sponsored by Van Gogh vodkas. If you don't like the free drinks you can purchase pretty much anything at one of the bars set up. They also pass around lots of different appetizer/Hors d'oeuvres.

I've found the ticket prices vary depending on the singer/band. Brett Michaels is one of the more expensive tickets.

If it wasn't the same night as HHN we might have checked it out. Even if you don't purchase tickets you can hear the concert loud and clear from the lobby.

The free drinks and food lasts about 2 hours from 6:30P - till 8:30P when the concert starts.

Thanks Jessica! That really does help and totally look forward to being there soon! I read on some of his concert reviews elsewhere, Bret puts on a great show even though it's short. Will review venue and show in due time.

we were there when flock of seagulls was on but mrs did'nt fancy it and did'nt want to go on my own, we came back from park about 7 and it was already full, it is only a small venue basiclly the seating area next to lobby so upgrading does'nt seem worth it as i could'nt see a higher viewing area, could here it from the beach club but the actual concert was'nt on that much but worth the money i think, also, if you book online it is cheaper than booking in the hotel
