We are eating at the Chef's Table at V&A's immediately after our ceremony. Do you think it would be bad manners to wear my veil? I love it, and want it in the pictures. However, I don't want to offend anyone. Is the veil like a hat...do I have to remove it at the dinner table?

I can't help you on the etiquette issue (so why am I posting...? LOL), but I wore my veil to the reception. I took it off right when we started eating, though, because I didn't want it to get in the way or in my food...

I say if it doesn't bother you, then wear it! :)

I say wear it. I am of the belief that after all of the money I have spent on these items, I want to get my wear out of it!!!!

I agree with Jonette, and I doubt anyone will think it's bad etiquette. I think everyone will probably just be very happy for you on your special day. :)

I don't think it would be an issue. Besides the money you've spent, and the fact that it is your special day, I would guess that it would be ok for a lady to wear a hat to the table, as I think it is ok for ladies to wear hats indoors...I tried to google this topic, but had a hard time finding it, so you're getting my partially educated guess...bottom line, I'm sure that my first thought if I saw you was how lovely and happy you and your new DH looked. I say go for it! :goodvibes

I agree. I think "the hat rule" just applies to men. I believe hats are appropriate for women in any setting. And I agree that on YOUR day, and after all that money....well, shoot, I'd almost run around naked singing God Save the Queen!
(OK, maybe that's going a little too far!) :)

I agree--even if it was an old-fashioned "hat etiquette" question, ladies are allowed to wear hats indoors.

Besides, I bet you will look so lovely in it, it will never even cross anyone's mind that you should take it off!

Glad ya'll agree that I can wear it...I love it, and you're all right...I definitly paid enough for it! Thanks!

I agree to wear it. Maybe you can take it off later .. just to get more variety of pictures. :-D

WEAR IT, WEAR IT, WEAR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the only day in your life you get to wear a veil, so wear it as long as you can!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually had someone tell me it was inappropriate to wear a veil even at a traditional wedding reception. I'm sorry- YOU the bride, YOU wear the veil! I think it would be a shame not to wear it. Besides, how many days in your life can you wear a veil of any kind? Not like you can go to the grocery store in it, you know? I look at it like the dress- I intend to wear it as long as I can. princess:
