Veggie options for snacking?

I recall reading that each of the dining rooms and menus has a vegetarian option - am I asking too much to hope that there is a veggie burger or somesuch at Pluto's? I assume there's plain (no meat) pizzas at the pizza place ...

Suppose I'm being piggy to wonder - sounds like there's so much available, anyway!

Don't know about Plutos or any of that since I haven't eaten there but I had the vegetarian option every night for dinner and it was amazing. One night a lasagna layered with thinly sliced potataos, sweet potatos and tomoatos. Another night eggplant napolean, my daughter actually ate mine one other night because the steak she ordered wasn't what she expected and I got that for dinner (obviously not a true vegetarian but eat that way for the most part).

I'm a vegetarian, too! I don't remember a veggie burger at Pluto's ( but I did eat my weight in french fries there!). But if you go to "Scoops" ( the ice cream place across the pool from Pluto's ) they have a really good veggie wrap sandwich. Like Pluto's, Scoops is open for most of the day and evening, so you can make it a snack or a meal.

Also, as I posted elsewhere, the veggie burger at the adult beach on Castaway Cay is really good, too!

Hmmm - an excuse to go on a french-fry only diet?

Thanks for the helpful hints.

They also have pizzas without meat at the pizza place. At least they always have cheese.

In Sept 2000 and 2001 there were veggie burgers at Plutos :)

If they're not listed just ask..they have them :)

Not sure if it matters, but they're more Boca burger-like than Gardenburger :)

We were on the 7/6 Western and I had a veggie burger at Plutos.

Stop it! ;)
All this talk to vegi burgers and french fries...man, I am getting hungry.
;)

We found that room service mid-day had some vegi options also, in soups, salads, a Roasted Vegi Focaccia. Check out Barb and Tonys site for the Room Service Menu.

The cheese and crackers from room service is also an excellent choice.:D

I didn't see the cheese and crackers tray listed on the room service menu, do you just ask for it? That would be great.

Some one already said that Pluto's has veggie burgers, and yes, they are like the Boco burgers and not the Garden Burgers (we don't really like the Boco burgers, but the fries are good!).

Now I have never eaten at Castaway Cay because we are vegetarians, but someone recently said they did have veggie burgers at the BBQ place, so we plan to check it out. I am sure they are the Boco burger kind too (probably), but that's OK once in a while. Actually I am SO excited about the frozen yogurt someone mentioned that they now have on the island, that I could just eat that for lunch :p

We are about to go on our 3rd cruise in two weeks (can't wait!!!!), and we had NO problem finding food on the last two cruises. Now if you are vegan (which it didn't sound like you were), it would be more difficult. But if you are just going meatless, you will find plenty of food!

In fact, I am thinking of skipping lunches this time because last time my husband and I didn't feel so good from all the food we were eating. I think 'brunch' and 'dinner' (especially since we are early dinner now) would be fine, and maybe a snack at night.

Anyway, you will have a great trip! I love the Disney Cruise! I can't wait until we leave in just a couple weeks for the Western 7 day, it will be our first seven day cruise!

You really do eat too much food. Last year we just went to Topsiders for lunch and had salad and fruit, and of course dessert. That was just enough to keep us till the afternoon cheese plate in our cabin. We have late dinner again 9/21, so we'll probable do the same thing. Anita.

yes there are veggie burgers at the family BBQ on castaway cay...
and it's a very strict veggie....meaning they don't make it on the regular BBQ but on a completely separate one (i.e. you don't have to worry about your veggie burger being contaminated by red meat runoff....)...
i don't know if that's the case at plutos but that is strictly enforced at cookies....
by the way, you have to request it on CC....they don't have them out...just say to the guy behind the counter that you'd like a veggie burger....he'll disappear and then come back with however many you asked him for.....then you put it on the hamburger roll that you can pick up yourself...

Now I'm hungry! Sounds like plenty of options - no fear of starving. Only one question - what's a "Boca Burger?"

Karen

Boca Burger is a brand name of a meatless burger. I actually prefer them to the grillers, but maybe I'm in the minority. Some restaraunts have good veggie burgers. I hate the Ruby Tuesday's Veggie burger....yuck! For all I know they serve the Boca Burger brand, and I just cook mine better:D !

by the way, if you're a fish eater, there's spectacular fish on the wonder (and i assume the magic as well)....
the steamed sea bass at tritons was the best sea bass i've ever had......

The veggie burgers at the adult beach on C.C. tasted like they were made mostly from potatoes. They were very good! I didn't eat at Cookie's BBQ, so their veggie burgers might be different.

BTW, Westjones, I am a vegan and I really didn't have too hard of a time eating on the Wonder last Christmas. Our waiter and the head waiter were very good at telling me " you can't have that, it's made with dairy!" whenever I asked for something off the regular menu! I'm not sure the veggie burgers at the adult beach were 100% vegan, they probably added eggs to hold the potatoes and other vegetables together, but we all eat stuff we wouldn't normally eat when we're on vacation!

I'm glad to know that Pluto's has veggie burgers to go along with those great french fries!

Chip

yes, the head waiters are walking encyclopedias of ingredients...they know what's in eveything and love to share their knowledge (they have to know for those with food allergies)...
not only do they know the ingredients, they know how the foods are prepared.....like the fact that the veggie burgers at cookies are prepared separately.....or that the french fries are made in a special french fry machine using vegetable oil (lots of fast food places make french fries in animal fat)....and they'll tell you what kind of vegetable oil if you need to know that...
