We are planning a family trip to WDW, and I am trying to read up on as much as possible so I know the ins & outs before we get there.

I am vegetarian (meaning no meats at all - red meat, poultry, seafood, etc..nothing), what are my options for dining in the parks? Are there vegetarian options in every restaurant?

Also what are the vegetarian menu options? Are they available all the time or is this something we should have noted in reservations?

Thanks in advance!

Hi
I am a vegetarian and have not yet gone to Disney World yet but I leave in a couple weeks!!!! I have been researching this as well. I would advise reading Vegan/Vegetarian dining reviews. This one is a good one to start becuase it has a lot of popular restaurants reviewed:

I also recomend checking out these menus and looking at the vegetarian options:

All places have options but usually only one. It seems like the vegetarian must dos are Boma and Ohana.
As for counter service there are always options as well. Columbia Harbor House has a popular vegetarian sandwhich. As a Disneyland veteran I know veggie burgers are everywhere, veggie chillie, pasta and pizza are pretty easy to find there so I would assume Disney World is similar.
Hope this helps :)

Oh and as for having it noted in reservations I have seen other people do that. I called Disney and the woman just told me that they will accomodate me when I get there. Should I call and tell them I would really like it noted?

We've found that there isn't a Disney-owned restaurant that offers us nothing, but there are many that might-as-well offer us nothing.

While reading-up is absolutely what you should do, you should also feel comfortable posting your thoughts about where you plan to eat, and we can give you direct feedback about our experiences as vegetarians in each eatery you choose.

Also what are the vegetarian menu options? Are they available all the time or is this something we should have noted in reservations?
Generally, vegetarian is not something that needs to be arranged in advance.

Wow thanks to you both! All of those links will be really helpful in making our dining plans. This was my first-ever thread on disboards - I have been lurking for a little while, but just decided to join the other day. Thanks for being so helpful to a newbie! :)

I am not a vegetarian, but I did see a lot of roasted vegetable options (counter service especially) and I did have them twice on my trip last week. I had a roasted veggie sub with sweet potato fries at Restaurantasaurus in the AK, and I had the Roasted Beet Salad with Goat Cheese at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot. Both were delish!!

Check out those links above- they have a ton of great info! I'm a vegetarian as well, and I've never had a problem finding great food anywhere throughout WDW! The only places I'd be concerned about would be a something like the Hoop-De-Do review, where the menu is set ahead of time- even there, though, calling ahead would be enough to get a veggie choice. I've never called ahead or noted vegetarian on my reservations anyplace else, and I've never had a problem. WDW is one of the most veg-friendly vacation spots anywhere! Have fun planning.

Ooh both of those sound great! I'm glad that it sounds like I won't be living on veggie burgers and grilled cheese for a week while we are there!

Thank you for the advice. I have been having fun planning so far, but w/ a bit of worry about finding good options for dining..now I feel much better about that!
