Hi everyone! I’ve been following this board for months and finally decided to join.

The last time I visited Universal was about 20 years ago, but my brother and I are talking about planning a trip there next September. Last time I went I could eat anything, but I’m now a vegetarian and was wondering what some of your favorite/must-have vegetarian friendly dishes are in the parks or City Walk. I tried searching this topic and only found info surrounding The Three Broomsticks- I apologize if I just wasn’t searching properly and missed it (newbie here!!)

I’m not one to make a fuss about it- I will gladly eat a side salad if that is the only option in the place the party wants to go, but I was just curious if there is anything really good that I should make sure to try out.

Thanks in advance for any replies! This board has been super helpful in our extra, extra early beginnings of planning, and I’m sure I’ll be lurking/posting much more next year once our travel dates become more concrete!

I was just there as a vegetarian last week. There are several plant based items on the menu at confisco grill in islands of adventure. its not on the menu but I asked if I could have the banh mi with tofu and they said yes. It was delicious!

We went to Mel’s drive in at studios for dinner and they had a plant based chicken and avocado sandwich. It was fine for quick service. Not amazing but it did the job.

we had a dinner at toothsome and I had their Brussels sprouts and the veggie pasta. Both were really good. We also did mobile order at voodoo donuts to skip the line and they have lots of vegan donut options.

on a previous trip we went to cowfish and I had veggie sushi. It was a while ago but I remember being happy with it.

this is a good resource:https://veganwiki.info/en/Universal_Orlando_Vegans

The vegan Disney World blog has some reviews of veg options at Universal as well. It's not as comprehensive as the wiki, but it has photos.

Last time I went, I remember that within The Simpson's Fast Food Alley there was a section called Lisa's Teahouse of Horrors that had some vegetarian options, which makes sense as Lisa is a vegetarian!

I mentioned in another thread that Three Broomsticks in Hollywood had a really great vegetarian platter, but I'm not sure they offer it in the Orlando location.

The vegan page isn't massively helpful for vegetarians, because it obviously doesn't really get into what makes something not-vegan. I wish someone local would make a page for ovo-lacto vegetarians, so we know if something just has dairy in it, or if it has rennet in it, ya know?

As a vegetarian, I agree that would be great. But I also know that I can eat anything that's vegan, so I do find vegan food reviews helpful. (Also note that the wiki often does tell you why something isn't vegan, which let's vegetarians know whether it is a concern for them).
