What are some good Vegetarian eats at the parks?

I'm open to any and all meatless suggestions! :dogdance:

I like the veggie gumbo at the stand in New Orleans Square. I don't know if they use chicken broth, but there is no meat. My other favorite is cheese enchiladas at the Mexican restaurant.

I'm am an omnivore and though the veg option for the WoC picnics was great. It's called Mediterranean Vegetarian.

Lots of people are liking the new option at Hungry Bear, the fried green tomato sandwhich.

Some people like the veg kabobs at the BTR BBQ.

I love the Penne pasta at the Plaza Inn. The vegetarian chilli at the Pacific Wharf Cafe is also really good. The Royal Street Veranda (the place that one of the posters mentioned) in NOS has the vegetarian gumbo that you would never miss the meat in, and it's wonderful. Tried the portobello mushroom dog at Award Wieners and it was pretty good as well. The pretzels to my knowledge are vegetarian. There are lots of options, and when in doubt always ask the CM's as they have a book that has the ingredients list for each item that they sell. Hope that this helps you out.

My favorites are Cafe Orleans ratatouille. And of course their Pomme Fritz. Also at e Hungry Bear they have a fried green tomato sandwich.

In CAlifonia Adventure. Taste Pilots Grill they have a really good veggie burger.

They are actually a ton of options. I think that at almost every single place my family has decided to eat here have always been vegetarian option for me.

Check out the Paradise Garden Grill in DCA - they have an excellent platter consisting of tofu and grilled vegetable skewers with a rice pilaf that is excellent and fresh pita bread. Next door is Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta- where they have an excellent pesto ravioli with pine nuts and a delicious mushroom flatbread. If you're at Disneyland, check out the Tomorrowland Terrace- they have a decent Portabello sandwich. Cafe Orleans has a great ratatouille and an excellent Monte Cristo sandwich (sans meat) it has three amazing cheeses- but certainly isn't healthy in the least bit. There is a good Fried Green tomato sandwich at the Hungry Bear served with sweet potato fries- I personally like this a lot. If you like Mexican food, the Rancho del Zocalo at DL has excellent cheese enchiladas and a nice vegetarian taco salad. You should be able to find a tasty vegetarian option at most places in either park! DLR has really done a great job at improving their vegetarian offerings in the past few years- which for vegetarians means you wont have to settle for a bland veggie burger or a simple salad.

Thanks everyone, keep 'em coming! :disrocks:

Also, do you know what's in the vegetarian gumbo? :hippie:

I am vegetarian and I feast when I am in the park. We eat at Carnation Cafe, and I tell them that I am vegetarian and the make sure my eggs are not cooked near the meats and bring my bacon out on a separate plate (my DH eats it), the gumbo at Royal Street is one of my favorite places to eat, and the pretzels.
At BB: the mushroom dish is okay, it was better with the garlic mashed potato than the couscous.

You can also eat Big Thunder BBQ, just order the veggie option. It is very tasty. :D
The veggie sandwiches are okay, they can be soggy at times (at carnation cafe and I think Blue ribbon bakery).

I actually don't actually have a problem eating most places. If they say vegetarian, they are, though not vegan. if you have a question about something that might be vegetarian (ie bean burrito), ask and the CM can tell you.

If you want to verify before you go, you can call the dinning reservation number and tell them you want to check on which every place.
When they changed the menu at BB, I called to check to see if it was veggie, and the called back after speaking to the chef to confirm.

Disney is very helpful and if given enough notice, any of the TS places can have something to make for you. :)

Another vote for the fried green tomato sandwich at the Hungry Bear...it's delicious!

Also, as the pastas at Pizza Port aren't made until you order them, you can get the fusilli in parmesan cream sauce & just ask them to leave off the chicken. It's better that way, anyhow :thumbsup2
