We want to try the Hoop de Doo and dinner at Ohana, but I am concerned that my vegetarian teen will not find enough to eat at these restaurants. Salad and bread don't really cut it when you've been on your feet all day and everyone else is digging in to heartier stuff.

Do they do tofu requests at Ohana? Any veg-friendly entrees at HDD?

Go to 'Ohana and ask for Chef TJ.

There's a review called "Vegan Tower of Deliciousness" on the review board (works for vegetarians too). Take a look at that. According to that thread you should try not to book on a Friday or Saturday as it's the chef's nights off.

OOPS! I should have searched better before I posted. Thanks for the tips on Ohana, everyone. But I still have not seen any info on a veg meal at HDD....

I called them 2 days in advance & preordered a vegetarian meal for my DD last year. I didn't make any specific requests & they served her a very large portion of Mac & cheese along with a mix of steamed veges

If you search online you will see a few veggie reviews of HDDR...none are that great. I actually just cancelled our reservation because I wasn't willing to spend so much for a poor meal. I know its about the show but I decided to spend my money elsewhere.

I can't remember the posts but I do know they serve grilled veggies that are not well seasoned.

i was wondering the same thing about HDDR my question never got answered here lol....im just going to call a few days before...my dd is only 4 so hopefully they wont think im nuts lol the girl just doesnt eat meat, hasnt in over a year!

I was just reading about vegan/vegetarian options at 'Ohana last night: http://sayitsnotsoy.com/wdw-ohana/ & click here for a 2nd review that I read.. I called HDDR after making our HDDR reservations for Aug and they gave a few options for the main entree: grilled veggies, a fish plate, and vegetarian lasagna.

I've gone to HDDR and I am a vegetarian. They fed me Vegetarian Lasagna...it was pretty good.

I have been to HDDR as a vegetarian and had a grilled veggie dish that was bland and pretty gross. They were super soggy and not seasoned at all. They were verrrrry nice there though and brought me extra corn and salad and bread, and though it wasn't the best dinner ever, I was full.

Actually, I'm currently trying to convince my family to go back this Dec because I love the show so much. :thumbsup2

Oh and man do some of his dishes look good!

My family went to Ohana on a Monday in August and Chef TJ was there. He was great! He came and talked to my daughter about what she eats. The noodles, shrimp and steamed veggies were okay to eat. Then an appetizer of fried pita and hummus showed up. Then the skillet of rice, tofu and deep fried broccoli showed up. It was huge. I tried various items from the dish and the y were delicious. :thumbsup2 I would even consider ordering it next time.
