Hi, I'm off soon for our holiday to DLP and wondered whether any particular restaurants at DLP catered well for vegetarians?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi!

Most restaurants cater for veggies with at least one veggie option.

The Agrabah Cafe is meant to be very good for veggies with lots of choice on the buffet. Most of the table service restaurants do a full veggie menu as well...

Hi,
We hav a similar issue in our family older sister is veggie, so every place we now eat has to be checked. Most resturants cater pretty well but alot say veggie even though they have fish in so just watch out for that. In Disney village you have rain forest cafe which has some nice bits and bobs, Cafe Mickey is also great. In the parks during the day everywhere has veggies options one of my sis fav's is Colonels Hathis Pizza Post in Adventureland, also Toad Hall. If you want to eat in the park on an evening as she always says a must is the Blue Lagoon Resturant in Adventure Land (maybe thats because we all love Pirates so much.

Hope this helps, if you want any spercific info i can always ask her 4 u.

Sorry, I was just going to type this little list of possible places when my computer crashed!!

-Walts- This has veggie options that look rather nice.
-The Blue Lagoon- When we dined there, they did a really nice looking veggie pasta with cashews and grilled veg that looked lovely!
-The Silver Spur Steakhouse- A few veggies on the DIS recommend here as a good option.
-Cafe Mickey- Does Pizzas to order (Choice of toppings) and they do some nice pastas, although I can't remember if these are veggie or not.
-The Rainforest Cafe- Does some nice looking Veggie pastas and a Veggie burger.
-Annettes- They do a veggie burger and they also do a HUGE three cheese salad for veggies too....
-The Chicago Steakhouse-Were doing a Cep Mushroom and White Truffle pasta when we were there last for veggies.

You could always check out the restaurant reviews sticky at the top of this board for a better idea of what is available.... :goodvibes

Myself,DH and DD are all veggies and i've got to say that disney are improving.
If you want a counter service Fuente del Oro makes a change. You can get some wraps with roasted peppers, salsa and sour cream.

My gf is a veggie and she had a veggie burger at both the Rainforest Cafe and Annettes. It was very similar to a hash brown but was very nice.

The rainforest also did nice salads and pasta dishes when we went.

At Cafe Mickey she went for a Pizza which was good, and the garlic bread is to die for.

In Disneyland there is a sandwich place half way along main street as you walk toward the palace, it has seating next to it and also in the arcade at the back. She had a mushroom croque monsieur which she really enjoyed, so much so we kept going back there for lunch afterwards.

There was also a burger place near woodies round up in the style of a Saloon at the back of the park past BTM and Indy where she had a veggie burger which she enjoyed too.

In the studios however we found nothing of great note for veggies. so we always trecked back to DL for a croque monsieur

Hope this helps

Thanks to you all for these really useful replies. I've found veggie food hard to get in France in the past and was a bit worried about what might be on offer at DLP. But it all sounds good! :cool1: Kind regards.

My ds is a very strict veggie - so this has been really helpful to me as well - thankyou :grouphug:

Buffets seems to be the best option, after reading through the existing reviews.

If any of you are going between now and Feb, and could post up 'veggie reviews' on any of the HB plan restaurants (in particular Chuck Wagon, Plaza Gardens, Rendez Vous des Stars and Agrabah Cafe) I would be very grateful, as these are the places we are thinking of eating at.

It would be good to hear about any kids veggie options in particular, although I'm sure they would be happy with chips and cakes if it came to it!
TIA

I second the recommendation for Agrabah Cafe. It's a buffet, so you can help yourself to loads of things. I had 2 plates of delicious salady things, all veggie, and was full after that, let alone going on to the main courses and desserts :)

You see, I've heard it the other way and that most of the time buffets aren't the best options for veggies.... It seems that table services are better as a few times I've read about people literally having the option of only a couple of salads and not much else at buffets.... The Agrabah Cafe does seem to be a haven for Veggies though!

Ooharr, excuse me from digressing from your original question!

Bob, I've only got that impression from these boards, but I'm willing to be persuaded otherwise! Last time we went in 04, there was a very poor veggie selection - in fact we barely saw a fruit or vegetable in 4 days ;)

The main thing that steers me towards the buffets is having a range of food for my kids to choose from (ie not just the kids menu with one veggie option) and if we can't find much savoury stuff we can eat plenty of desserts!

Or maybe we'll eat at the Agrabah Cafe everyday.

Bit rough on Veggies then if you barely saw a fruit or veg!

It is a wonderful reason to indulge on desserts..... (Personally, I never need an excuse- I'm just greedy!! )......... I agree though, it's nice to have a range of choices rather than being forced to have the only option suitable.....

Got back from DLP yesterday and I'll agree with the buffets being especially bad for veggies.

Went to the Hunters Grill buffet for one dinner and you do feel slightly short changed of your 28 Euros when all you can have is a bowl of soup, a slice of pizza and some potato smileys. That was one of the reasons I cancelled my Inventions reservation - I refuse to pay 55 Euros for such a small choice.

I too discovered the cheese and mushroom croque monsieur on Main Street and loved those but found other fast food places bad - mainly burgers on the menu.

Cafe Mickey has several veggie starters (mushrooms, soup, garlic bread) but only one true veggie main which is "Dori's Cannelloni". The other dish that is listed has scallops and other fish in it. The cannelloni was nice but it would have been nice to have more than one meal to choose from.

On the upside though, my vegetable moussaka on the Eurostar home was to die for!

Paris is still way better than Tokyo Disneyland though where I found only one veggie dish in total in the entire two parks!!!! (It was a Margarita pizza in Ristorante di Canaletto in Disneysea if any veggies out there are on their way to Tokyo in the future).

:scared1: One dish in two parks?!?!?! Thats shocking!

I was going to reply but I see that Bob basically said everything I would have said!

I will add that in the last year or so things have improved, albeit it not at the buffets except for Cafe Agrabah (see, Bob already said that too)

I'm going to dig up the not-so-pleasant veggie thread as I made a lot of suggestions including off-site places and places in Paris to dine and shop for veggies.

Also note that in France 'vegetarian' is a loose term; even the caesar salad at DLRP is marked as veggie but states on the menu that it includes anchovies.

Off to find the thread, if I don't return I am sure that Bob will just keep talking on my behalf ;)

Not the happiest thread around, but hopeful one of the more helpful ones for veggies :)

I spend a LOT of time in France and let me assure you that I don't starve, far from it in fact ;)

I was just at the Food and Wine Fest in WDW this week and I must say that I was extremely disappointed as the veg options are even less now during the festival and at WDW in general; while DLRP has continued to improve, WDW has declined in its offerings.
