What are the MUST DO restaurants for vegetarians and/or vegans? I'm looking for TS places outside the parks that would be great. We have two vegetarians in our group so it would nice if there were more than one entree option for us.

The Wave has a great vegetarian menu. I had the tofu fried rice-it was so good we wound up going back the next day for lunch. California Grill also has several delicious vegetarian options. Both are at the Contemporary Hotel. I've also had really good vegetarian meals at Narcoosses and Flying Fish.

Sanaa is a must do restaurant for us and has some delicious vegetarian options in their Bread service and Potjie Inspired selections. I'm not vegetarian and I often end up with a vegetarian meal when we are there.

I was looking at The Wave and it looks delicious! I'm trying to decide whether to go to The Wave or Trattoria al Forno for dinner one of the days.

I really liked the Wave as well as Sanaa and Jiko. All of them were really good for vegetarians. And a lot of the restaurants at Disney Springs are good for vegetarians. I ate at Frontera Concina last time I was there and really enjoyed it.

I would have to second Sanaa as well as recommend Boma. Both offer plenty of vegetarian/vegan curries.

Last time I was at Disney I wasn't vegetarian and I LOVED Boma. I remember hearing that they have a ton of options for vegetarians and vegans, but it wasn't important to me at the time. I will most defiantly go there!

Agree with all of these- particularly Sanaa and California Grill- the vegetable coconut curry dish at Cali Grill is amazing!!!!

Don't forget that most places will also prepare a meal for vegetarians with advanced notice. I wish I had known that the last time I suffered through Liberty Tree. Looking forward to sanaa on our november trip!

How much in advance would I have to give a notice? When I made reservations online, I put "other" on the allergy part which I think will have the waiter ask me when I get there, but I have not had to do it before so I do not know how it works.

Definitely Sanaa, The Wave, and Cali Grill. Depending on if they're strict vegetarians or pescatarians, Tokyo Dining has really good sushi. Also Tangierine Cafe in Epcot has a great vegetable platter with falafel and such. Skipper Canteen in the MK has a few good choices for vegetarians too. Most restaurants will have a vegetarian choice on the menu and particularly signature restaurants will be willing to customize a dish to whatever you want really.

Il Mulino is pretty great with vegetarians. Its not as great with vegans, but still better than a number.

In park - Spice Road Table for vegetarians and vegans.

Here are some helpful lists...not all TS and may be older, just thought they might be of use or a jumping off point for research :)

We have 2 omnis, 1 vegetarian and 1 vegan in our family. The restaurants that have worked the best for us in the past are:
Trails End when chef TJ is there
Turf Club
Sanaa
Boma
The Wave

To be honest, all restaurants have accommodated us every time. Some are just better, or have more options than others.

Could you find out if they consume animal rennet? If they do, then most places offer decent options, espixally mexican or Italian. If they don't, then you kinda have to look at more vegan style options. It makes a big difference in what they can eat.

My daughter is a vegetarian, and I'm a pescetarian. Our favorites are Boma (largest, tastiest selection of vegetarian items we've found so far and the chef walks you around to show you what is safe if you let your waiter know you are vegetarian), Chefs de France, Be Our Guest (we love that their soups are vegetarian). I also think Mama Melrose has decent vegetarian options, but my daughter isn't as enthusiastic about it as the three others I've mentioned. Il Mulino and The Wave are on our need to try list.

I haven't done this yet. I realized when we were working on the ADRs for our November trip that I can ask ahead of time to ensure a meal. I think if you can stand calling the Disney dining number you can request two veg/vegan dishes for your party so the chef is prepared. I plan to call and add just before our trip. I don't think they need more than 24 hour notice. Perhaps someone who has actually done it will respond!
