As an ovo-lacto vegetarian, which meal would you choose to do at the Whisperin' Canyon Cafe? Which do you think is the most bang for your buck veggie experience?

I had Cousin Al's Vegetarian Dish. Basically a chil made with cannellini beans. It tasted good, but was a small portion (and I don't have a big appetite). I don't remember there being any other options, either.

I'm thinking that breakfast is probably our best bet, then. I'd hate to have only one dish to choose from...especially if I really wasn't in the mood for chili.

Cousin Al's Vegetarian Dish - Cannellini Bean Stew, Oven Dried Tomatoes, Grilled Yellow Squash, Baby Spinach with Garlic, topped with a nest of Yukon Gold Potatoes, and Honey Basil Ginger Oil $16.99

My DH had this in Feb. He thought it was pretty good and a little different then the other veggie meals he was having at the time. You know how they tend to all be similar. It wasn't a chili dish but more like stew with other stuff on top. I had the skillet and he shared a little of the sides. We had a really nice dinner. Or moods and the meal seemed to mesh.

Yeah, it's not a traditional chili. Not a traditional stew, either. :rotfl:

Will you have the meal plan? If so, by the time you add in an appetizer and dessert it would be plenty of food. I was looking at the menu and it looks like there is a pasta dish that is either vegie or could be. I don't remember any other choices when I was there almost a year ago, so either it's an old menu I was looking at (from all ears) or it's an addition after my visit (or my waiter was mistaken about the vegie entrees).

No, we won't be on a meal plan. How does the chili compare to the chili at Columbia Harbour House?

I think it's a lot better than the CHH chili. Less chili like and more beany, if that makes sense. Lots of flavor (I remember it being a little oily, but maybe I'm remembering wrong). I had no complaints about the quality at all, just the quantity.

As a vegetarian myself, I got the chicken pasta and asked them to leave out the chicken. As I remember, the price was also reduced!

Johnny B. Good's Grilled Chicken Pasta -- penne and fresh vegetables tossed with Roasted Garlic Chipotle Cream Sauce $16.99

Cousin Al's Vegetarian Dish - Cannellini Bean Stew, Oven Dried Tomatoes, Grilled Yellow Squash, Baby Spinach with Garlic, topped with a nest of Yukon Gold Potatoes, and Honey Basil Ginger Oil $10.29

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about vegetarian offerings elsewhere on property...I have eaten at a good percentage of the restaurants and I'm also local, which makes it easier!!
