Has anyone ever used their points to stay in Las Vegas? I am trying to convince my SO to take a trip in April for a friend's wedding. I figure if we can use points instead of paying some of the outrageous hotel costs, he just might go for it.
We stayed at the Polo Towers but didn't use our pts there(stayed with friends that owned timeshare there).
I will enclose a link about our stay at Polo Towers this past June below. Using pts for a Vegas stay is not very wise
.You can book a room at Vegas.com a lot cheaper and not use any DVC pts.
Example.......we booked a room for this coming July for 5 nights at the Flamingo(mid strip across from Ceaser's Palace) for $340 total(taxes inc)...so why would you want to use 230-270 pts to stay at Polo Towers?
I definately WOULD NOT use points for a stay in Vegas. You can get a GREAT hotel room, even on the weekends for usually under $150. For instance at Treasure Island, you can get a room usually for $89 a night during the week and the weekends are usually $159 or so. Not bad at all, and definately not worth points. Just go to the individual hotel websites, they usually have the best deals. You can also use www.travelaxe.com You can download a program and it will search various hotel booking websites and show you the best rate for each hotel. It is a useful tool, and then compare to the individual hotel. Sometimes it can find some great deals for you.
