I loved the Hilton Elara, had a 2 bedroom penthouse for a week, stunning views. It's attached to the Planet Hollywood Miracle Mile shops, parking is in the Miracle Mile car park. The air is super clean, non-smoking property, not sharing the air from a casino, also the windows do have vents for outside fresh air.
I've also stayed at the Marriott Grand Chateau, which is literally across the road from the Elara. I's a bit quieter, not attached to anything, but less than 5 min walk from the middle of The Strip. I've also stayed at Excalibur, Jockey Club, Hilton, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Palms, The D and a few others off the Strip. Hilton Elara gets my top vote. If money was a decider, I'd say Travelodge Las Vegas Center Strip is the best location for your dollar, but I think staying in a non-casino property is a good idea. Lots of people say you have to stay in a casino, but the air quality and the distances involved are often HUGE.
