Okay, I think I'm caught up!

Got my nails done yesterday, and went with the color Dawn said, metallic purple!! Looks great!!

And got my haircut, and she thinned it out, it was just too much hair for the summer.

Doing laundry so I can start packing. I had to take my suitcase in to be repaired on Monday, one of the "legs" was loose and turns out the fasteners on the inside were gone. It's going to cost $5!! Big deal!!

In 4 days and 2 hours, I'll be there!!!

i'm sad today.. bob left until sunday.. then i leave monday morning and am gone for a week.. so i won't get to see him for days and days.

Empty nest sucks.. the house seems so empty, i'm always used to it being filled with family.

I'll have lunch with my parents on friday. So that's good. hhmmmm...

Just got back from shopping. I decided that I needed some more new clothes for Vegas!! Got 3 tops and a dress. Actually I got 2 dresses because I couldn't decide, although I liked the colors in one much better than the other. But the 2nd one covers my bra better... Taking a survey from the family and the 1st one is so far unanaimous. I would post pictures but I can't find any on the Kohl's website... I'm leaning towards the 1st one, and they're the same price, so that doesn't matter.

I'm bringing..jeans.. tanks with light weight cardigans.. and dresses.
I've only bought one new dress..the rest are just some from my closet.
Silver Sandals..Silver Flats.. and Silver wedges.. and sneakers.

Sounds like it will all fit in one little suitcase...right?
uummm well.. i have the little party bags..then snacks for the room and a couple of little bottles for the room.
That's as much as the other.

I really want to put it all in one suitcase.

Nic's Sticks is a nail polish by OPI. It looks kind of like a felt pen and it's easier and not messy to apply (for dorks like me who can't paint between the lines very well ).

So we are planning a camping weekend the 4th of July.
I am so scared. I have not been camping since I was a kid.
But the boys like it.
I am trying to find a cabin.

Then another time in August. I am hoping that I can make it around the same time as the fair. I hate going to our fair.
I am thinking about somewhere by Mount St. Helens. Its nice & cool in that part of Washington.

Being in a cabin is not exactly camping you know. Grab a tent and there you go.

I had just laid down all ready for bed, and my cat jumped on my stomach, and I kid you not, SHE PEE'D ON ME!

I've been trying to think which grocery store to go to on Sunday after Stacie gets in, but I can't think of a good one near the Strip.

The Strip itself is nice, and the neighborhoods farther away from the Strip (like where Jane, Amy and I live) are nice.
But the immediate surroundings once you get off the Strip are so scuzzy. I can't imagine shopping in one of those stores. It gives me the creeps.

I actually know of a grocery store not far off the strip on Tropicana. Its a Ralphs. Bank of America is also across the street. Been there a few times and its been ok. So that should work for us.

I still haven't started packing but I have my clothes all together in my closet. I figure since I'll be all alone and off on Saturday I will get it all done then.

My hair is all cut & colored (although I think there is alittle more blonde that I had hoped for, but its ok), pedi is complete, now I need to pack.

I am going to buy a few things in Spokane tomorrow before I check in for lunch with Capri. That way I don't have to take the boys with me.

So the meeting went just about how I expected it to. My supervisors's boss announced that my office would be consolidating with another office to create a new office of "Civic Engagement and Diversity".

Meanwhile the director of my office will be taking on a different job (that has basically been created to have someplace to move her) and the director of the other office that we are joining up with will be my new supervisor.

I always got along really well with my supervisor and she was really supportive of the work that my team and I were doing whereas my new supervisor isn't necessarily someone I trust to advocate on my behalf so this isn't the most welcome change. But, the wheels were in motion long before today and there's not much I can do except for ride the tide and hope for the best. If it all works out and turns out to be a good thing for me professionally, so be it. If not, then next spring (the traditional time to find new jobs when you work on a college campus), I'll look for something else.

The first immediate impact will be that I probably won't get to go shopping with you on Thursday after all. I had planned to move my 1/1 with my supervisor and play hooky that afternoon, but now I have to do a joint meeting with both my old and new supervisors from 1-2:30 that day. So unless I can work some magic tomorrow and get the meeting moved, I will likely have to forego the day at the outlets and the big picture at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign.

As for everything else, there are still a million details that will be working themselves out over the course of the next year... Lots of meetings, lots of retreats, rewriting people's job descriptions, etc. It's gonna be a bumpy ride, but luckily I've got a great support network including all of you to help see me through!!! Thanks for being so great and I'll see you all soon!

Jane--I'm sorry. I hate change personally. Looking back, when I've been in that sort of position usually you've known change was coming so long that it was actually relief when whatever happened happened. And you know the old saw: "whenever one door closes, another one opens." But it doesn't sound like your door is closing--just moving to another opening. See ya next week!

Jane, well, like you said, you pretty much knew this was coming. I remember talking about it a while ago. I hope things go smoothly. I'm sorry you won't have your old supervisor anymore, but all you can do is hope for the best with the new one.
Guess the only thing to do now is see what the future holds. In any case, you know you have us for whatever support you need.
