Back in the day, the monorail made a stop at the hotel, where there was the monorail bar. And all the dads would sneak over for a cocktail

Off the top of my head that's a little under 17pp per year for current dues plus $pp/year. ToT is included there. That's $337/night in the studio I'm currently writing this from tonight. That math doesn't work for ANYONE. lol
Why would anyone pay $90pp more for resale restrictions.?
I wonder how the math works if you end up getting VGC with your VDH points half the time (via 7 mo or waitlist).Off the top of my head that's a little under 17pp per year for current dues plus $pp/year. ToT is included there. That's $337/night in the studio I'm currently writing this from tonight.
When I tried to add a few cash nights on with my MK discount, the total came to about $750/night after taxes, plus another $35 for parking. I opted for DLH instead at $500/night after taxes for a deluxe view of the pool.
I'm grateful I never paid close to 320pp, but honestly the math still works and is, believe it or not, greater than 50% off even the discount rack rates.
Based on next year's point chart, a VDH preferred view studio would have be 18 points for the nights i paid $535 including parking. Let's be generous and assume we but at 210pp with the current incentives. 4.20pp/year+9 mf+ 2.72 ToT yields 15.92pp, or 286 for the night.. About 47% off.
I dunno if this a nice endorsement of VGC or a sad indictment of VDH, but somehow 320pp at VGC has better math than 210pp at VDH. I was itching to buy the first 2 nights of my trip when I started at DLH. Within 2 hours of moving over to VGC, temptation was in the rear view mirror.
True on the costs of VGC vs VDH and that's why any resale VGC popping up gets gobbled up in minutes these days and will continue until VGC levels out the MFs with its next refurb upcoming.Off the top of my head that's a little under 17pp per year for current dues plus $pp/year. Loved that place.Sgt. Preston's Yukon Saloon...
Well that's quite the hypothetical scenarioI wonder how the math works if you end up getting VGC with your VDH points half the time (via 7 mo or waitlist).
Can't be real, why would anyone pay $320.!? lol
Because sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants. When I bought my VGC for $220pp a few years back, people were telling me I was nuts. I could have bought direct for so much cheaper. But I pulled the trigger anyway and was all the more happy for it. Value is in the eye of the beholder they say. That math doesn't work for ANYONE. lol

I believe MFs for VGC will catch up to VDH in 2-3 years, given what's happened to VGC's dues in the last 3 years. You also add the upcoming refurb and it may shoot past VDH. VDH's dues will hold steady for the next 4 years if it follows other new resorts like CCV and Riviera.Agree with all of this, and as a biased VGC owner I'll add:
Paying $300+ for resale VGC will likely hold its value better than a $210-$230 VDH purchase given the higher Maintenance Fees, resale restrictions, and the additional elevated ToT.
Also, the better location and amenities at VGC, as for us nothing beats the ability to be at the pool and head into the park to ride Grizzly and go right back to our pool seats...it's amazing!
Those things could happen, but the idea that MFs for VGC will catchup to VDH in 2-3 (or shoot past it) is speculating, as is the idea that VDH dues will hold steady...California is not the same as WDW.I believe MFs for VGC will catch up to VDH in 2-3 years, given what's happened to VGC's dues in the last 3 years. Regarding the ToT, hopefully, Grand Cal is locked in at the lower rate as everyone is SPECULATING. No one knows for sure and I'm not going to put it past Disney to try to pass the cost onto the owners if it ever happens. But I definitely agree with VGC's better location.
SO we are in at $210, frankly I though the price would be much higher.Agree with all of this, and as a biased VGC owner I'll add:

… for now. If Disneyland Forward happens and there’s possibly an entrance into New Orleans Square…. Get some splash on with Tiana and back to the pool.
