VB waitlist Question

Hi, newbie (resale) member here our points have just loaded and I’ve booked our first trip However, we couldn’t get the whole week in the same room so I need some advice on waitlisting. At the moment we have 3 nights in a deluxe room, 2 nights in a 2 bed and then 3 nights back in the deluxe - all at Vero Beach this October. I’d rather just move once, but that’s not possible with current availability. So can I waitlist the first 3 nights in a 2 bed and at the same time waitlist the middle 2 nights in a deluxe room? Ideally I would have liked a 1 bed, but that only has 2 nights available over the week. Is it worth waitlisting the whole 8 days there? How often do waitlists come through? I’m not really sure exactly how the wait listing works and don’t want to do anything wrong! Any advice much appreciated. Thank you

Yes, you can do that...just be sure to also stalk the website while you wait!

An 8 day waitlist will be very hard to fill because it is all or nothing and waitlists only fill when someone cancels their trip...

For example, if you have those 8 days listed and someone cancels 4 of those 8 days, they won't hold them for you...they will fill waitlists if they exist for any or all of those days and if nothing exists to match them, they will be released back to general inventory...that is why many of us around here stalk the website even when we have waitlists.

Just be sure that if one of your waitlists does match...for those first 3 or middle nights...that you cancel out the second one so it doesn't fill and a CM ends up changing that one too...I made that big mistake when I was first an owner!

Thank you, that’s all really helpful and useful advice. I didn’t end up waitlisting the 8 days, but did two shorter ones. Am also stalking the website, just in case. Very good advice on remembering to cancel the second waitlist. Took me a couple of reads to understand what you meant, but I see now and probably wouldn’t have thought of that. Thank you so much.

Thank you. We’re in a standard view deluxe inn room. I’d rather have an Ocean view, but there was only 1 night available. Fingers very firmly crossed
