VB is hiring a pool custodian, what would they do?

What does a pool custodian do? Anyone know?

DH and I like to check the job line once in a while to see what's available.

I live in a condo - our pool custodian - check each morning to make sure that the water is still in balance? and kepts the pool clean - since VB only has one pool - I would hope that person would have other duties too.

When we have been to VB in the summer months, there have been problems with non-DVC members using the pool especially on weekends. Most appear to be either locals or migrant workers who are working in the area at the time. It's very easy to get into the pool by following a member through the pass gate or "look pitiful" and someone always opens the gate to let the person in. Perhaps besides pool maintenance, this custodian is going to help "police" the entry gate. Just a thought as to what additional duties might be.

I complained to the recreation mgr at VB after I noticed several obvious non-DVC members sneaking into pool. I thought it odd that DIsney built VB right next to public access beach. All non-members have to do is walk down beach to VB boardwalk, then onto VB property, and zip into pool. VB posted a staffer at the gate after I complained. The rec mgr said they are aware of the ongoing problem but don't have a solution for it.

Just got back about 2 weeks ago and I saw people being kicked out!!! Don't know how obvious it was but the life guards new!!!

We visited VB on our last trip to WDW b/c we are considering a resale there. It was June and the pool area appeared to be a little disheveled. There was quite a bit a trash/used towels just left on the chairs and tables and blown onto the ground. The mini-golf area looked as if it could stand some refurb. Could have been a bad day, but a custodian may be able to help keep the area tidy and up to the members expectations.

I was also dissapointed in the size of the pool. I have been used to seeing it in the wide angle photo in all the DVC adds, which makes it look huge. It was much smaller than I expected.

We have not ruled out a resale there, and we'll be staying at VB for a few days this fall and look forward to it.
