The news said that VB was to hit record temp today. I bet it must be hot!!! And for some reason I am still a little jealous of those that are there suffering right now. I guess I will just have to wait until september.

Ft. lauderdale is having some wild fires, kinda wondering if it would be a problem for VB?

Wow...I had no idea it was that hot down there. Weather.com shows the June record high to be 100 degrees. I guess they beat that?

We had a cool front come through last night in Atlanta. It's been heavenly! I hope it cools down in central Florida before we get there in 10!!! days!

The "Seaside Scoop" (Peggy Fisher's internet posting on www.globallifeguard.com) mentions the high temps:

If you like it hot at the beach, you’ve got it again today. It was August-hot and steamy at 8:30 AM, and we’ve had record temps in Vero Beach— 97° and 98°—the last two days. It was 91° yesterday in the shade on the barrier island; that means, it reached the full temps or higher in the blazing afternoon sun at the beach. Use lots of your 30 SPF sunscreen; you could see the sunburns before 9:30 AM. See daily “Sun Savvy Safety” suggestions below. Be smart; make sure heart-healthy fish are the only things you grill today.

I am at Vero now. It is not too hot. I am used to Oklahoma heat though.

Being right on the water is always the best place to be. ;)

If it is "summertime hot" you won't really notice it until you head inland -- shopping center parking lots are the most brutal.

But, heat or cold -- I envy you being at Vero. Have a great time. :smooth:
