VA's Chefs Table

I'm slightly confused. Perhaps someone can help me out .
The wife and I have reservations for the Chefs Table. Some of the information I've read says that what you are served is basically the same menu available in the regular dining room. Other info leads me to believe that the chef tailors the menu to your taste. I don't eat seafood and the wife is allergic to Mushrooms, is this going to cause a problem with the Chef?

The Chef most definately tailor the menu to you. He will ask you right off the bat if there is anything you don't like or don't want to have or try. For as much $$$ as your spending, they will want to ensure your evening is above reproach. Have a fantastic time!

When they call you a week before your dinner, you need to mention your dietary requirements then. You will basically eat what's on offer in the main dining room, but they will give you more courses. For example, the main dining room might choose between two different fish, whereas the Chef's Table guests would get both fish. There are a few differences, but for the most part, it's the same offerings.

One of the things that is very nice is you get samples of everything, including several of the extra cost items. Figure on being there about four hours.

Just make sure they are aware, in advance, of the dietary restrictions. A couple of things which might be more specific are: for the seafood, is it all seafood or just shellfish? and for the mushrooms is the severity level such that cross-contamination could be a problem? The more you let them know in advance the better your experience will be.
