Yes. Credit card or debit card. There are machines at each station. Caution: be careful no body is around when entering your pin. There has been a scam recently where someone watches to get pin in the guise of offering help to tourist or people unfamiliar with machine. Then another person distracts and grabs your wallet It may be Better to go online to Translink site first to figure out how many zones ticket you need and it will also map out your route.

Even easier, if you have Apple Pay or Android Pay, contactless pay credit cards, etc, you can just tap at the turnstile.

OP another thing to know is you have to tap in and tap out at the turnstiles.
