We are doing a 7 night Alaska Cruise in July, 2013 and I want to book our hotel. We are a family of 5 and would like to avoid renting a car and are arriving 2 nights before departure.

My head is spinning from all the choices. If you have a recommendation that will not break the bank, I would appreciate it.

Thank you!

Pan Pacific is a great hotel. Make your reservation online and it should save you some money vs. booking thru hotel. The ship sails from right outside the hotel. When you wake up the morning of your cruise, the ship will be right outside. Take the elevator to the ground floor and you are at the cruise terminal. It is awesome. When we stayed there for our Alaska cruise in 2011, we had a partial ocean view (not very good) but the price was not too expensive.

I hope this helps.

We're cruising on September 2nd and are staying at the Ramada Limited Dowtown Vancouver on West Pender Street.

We looked on www.booking.com for an idea of price and then I contacted the hotel directly. As we are staying there before and after our cruise, they agreed to giving us a 20% discount which they offer for stays if 3 nights or more, even though our nights aren't consecutive. It also includes breakfast!

I believe we paid CAN$420 for the 3 nights for 2 of us (CAN$140 per night or CAN$70 per night per person).

This hotel is only 8 blocks from Canada Place and 2 blocks from Gastown.
