Value vs. Moderate?

If your family can swing moderate then do it. It is nice. We have stayed at CSR and loved it. It is the favorite moderate of my almost 16 year old son. Actually last summer we were at the AKL and he asked to go back to the CSR next time.

BUT, we just got back from the Half-Marathon (he ran) and we stayed at ASMo. I thought I would try to never go value again, but we actually had a nice time. We liked the fun cartoonish feel of the Movies. Two good pools, great layout without much walking, good food court. Our Mighty Ducks building had just been renovated. Still don't like the Music theme, just didn't work with the "cartoon" style, and I'm not into sports. But I will go back to them again. Maybe PC next time....

ps This last trip we could get ASMo for $55 or CSR waterview for $100. We figured that the difference was dinner each night. But we do go often so which hotel isn't as big a deal, just what works for what trip.

I've stayed at all levels at WDW. I love the value resorts. As far as I can determing the big difference between mods and values are....
1. pools...the mods have some nice slides and the pools have terrific theming
2. restuarants..the mods have a sit-down restuarant..values don't
3. mods have 2 sinks (I know POR does for sure) values have one

But those are the big differences. The room size is not a big difference. Maybe 1' each way. The doors open to the outside walk in both. They are all pretty spread out, with the exception of POFQ. Beds are the same size.

For the price you pay for a value resort, you could get two rooms instead of one at a mod. That's what I recommend to people traveling with more than 3. Yes, I love the deluxes. But, I mostly stay on my dvc points. If I'm paying cash I stay at a value resort. The food court at Movies was quite good. The bus service is good, better than at POR. I love POR but will stay at values for the great savings. Then I can eat more!!!!!
