Value Season????

I was wondering what was the least expensive (i.e. best room rates??? for onsite hotels) "season" to go to Universal Resorts.....any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the 2006 seasonal rates that I found...

Value Season: Jan 3 - Feb 9; Aug 20 - Sept 28; Nov 26 - Dec 21

Regular Season: April 30 - Aug 19; Sep 29 - Nov 20

Peak Season: Feb 10 - Apr 6; Apr 23 - 29; Nov 21 - 25

Holiday: April 7 -22; Dec 22 - Jan 3, 2007

This will be extremely helpful when planning our next trip. I think we've decided to start alternating years one Disney next Universal/Seaworld....hopefully this will work out and we will be able to travel during Universal's "value" season too.

That's a good idea because people get brainwashed visiting Disney each year, then get sick of it once the kids reach the age of 8.

Value season is great, and the crowds are light, but the parks close around 6pm. It's not that big of a deal, because you go to Citywalk and visit a restaurant like Margaritaville. But many are surprised at the early closing whereas Disney usually stays open until 10pm all the time.

Since we're going in Feb (pre-Presidents Day), how late are the CW restaurants open?? With the parks closing early, just wondering how late CW is open? (Haven't been there unless it's summer...so, "off season" is new for us ...) Thanks!
