What is the best price anyone has gotten for AKL Concierge in an off season? I am trying to decide whether I should go ahead and pruchase passes for my winter trip and be happy with my AAA room only rate, or wait for something better. I thought about getting an AP, though about waiting for a Disney Visa rate which would be a package and require the UMP. So, folks, what shall I do? My rate, including taxes is $411/night right now. Have no idea what the pre tax rate is. They said they couldn't tell me??

I am going this December (within Value Season) and got $335/night (does not include tax). The rack rate is $425. It goes up to, I believe, $445 in 2005.
My rate is the AP rate. With the BAT code (I think that's the code) the room-only rate was $345/night plus tax.
Good luck!

With the tax, how much is your nightly rate with AP? Tring to decide id I should buy tickets now or wait for a possible AP special and buy one to get the discount. So, the difference would need to be more than the difference in ticket prices.

Maybe I'll go ahead and buy the hoppers. The BAT code, or something similar wouldn't make much difference, and if they offer 5/2, we couldn't stay for 7 nights anyway.

Thank you so much.

We're staying AKL CL in November, also during Value Season. I purchased one AP specifically to get the AP room only rate (EWP). The original price per night was $473.88 including tax. With the AP discount, it dropped $100/night to $373.60 including tax. Because we're staying five nights, the discount more than paid for the AP itself!

The AP also pays for itself if you plan to be in the parks 6-7 days per year, I think.

The total tax rate is 11.5%.

Make sure to get the resort rate before you buy your AP if that is why you are buying the AP!!:)

I agree. Just because you get the AP doesn't mean you'll get the rate after it's announced. I think AP rates go the same day they are announced for most hotels.

Yes! I agree with johnsonnet and Esmeraldax - I didn't mean to imply that just because you get an annual pass, you'll get the rate!

(Although, interestingly, I was able to book a CL room at AKL with the AP rate for friends about 3 weeks after the codes were out. Unusual...)

We have gotten an AP rate of $277 a night inc taxes for the past two years during the winter value season. We are hoping for something close to this rate for the winter value season of 2005.

We also received the AP rate (value season) of $335 for AKL Concierge.

I look at things a bit Off Kilter :) though. Rack rate for Holiday Season (which is when we're going) is $620 a night. The 'regular' season rate that I was originally quoted was $475 a night. Neither of these rates included tax.

In the past three years (2001, 2002, 2003) that we booked this rate- the pretax prices were $239, $249 & $249. As the tourism industry in FL has picked up quite a bit (before the hurricanes), the discounts haven't been as deep. I'm assuming that this rate will be as good as it gets for this season.

I can't wait to get there and totally relax.........

Which value season did you receive the $335 AP rate? That seems high for value season. Since 2003 the AP rate during the winter value season has been $277 a night inc. tax.

The December value season.

I thought that it was a bit high too, but that seems to be the rate that is being offered this year.

We've gone at the same time every year since 2001, and this is the first year that it's been over $300

Thanks Flower. It will be interesting to see what the winter value season rate is for 2005. Have a great trip.

You're welcome!

I usually start saving for the following year when we get back from the current year trip.

Happy planning.....

This makes me long for the good old days! We got $235 a night (includes tax) in Nov 01.

LOVE AKL Concierge but I'm having a hard time going back at current rates.
