I think you'll be in for a shock if you don't have much lower expectations. With the age of your kids the older should understand what to expect and the younger one won't care. If sticking with value I would 100% stick with POP Century with guaranteed new room. Visit AoA to see the cool imagineering and eat. You could book there but the rooms are practically original and they are "bright".

Once you have rates also compare them to CSR (as well as CBR). They have been running some goo deals due to the construction but CSR is less impacted overall. CBR has impact to multiple views and operations.

You can also look at the disneyspringshotels.com who will have 60 day FP+ and EMH in October. You often can get more for your money, especially if you shop the discounts ... and it's walking distance to Disney Springs.

Well I’ve been in the same boat as you, DS got spoiled to Deluxe resorts, our last trip we stayed at POP and he was “embarrassed”. Lol he was 8, almost 9, anyway with that being said, he thought the theming at POP was dumb, I wished I would have chosen sports or even movies, the theming at those two are something he could relate to a bit more.
Just my input- have fun

Our DDs, are not fans of the POP theme either, they cannot relate to those decades, they much prefer ASMO.

I've stayed at all levels of resorts. I do think you'll be a bit disappointed with the values if you are used to deluxe. That being said, if you don't care about a plain pool (aka, without water features and water slides), and not having a table service restaurant, then you should be fine. The values are like your standard Holiday Inn type rooms-outside entrance door, small toilet/shower room, sink outside that room. I'd say the Values also tend to be a bit more "chaotic" around the grounds and lobby.
