Value resorts!

I'm going to disagree with a previous poster--I always pay for a preferred room at the value resorts. I want the comfort on knowing I'm going to be close to the food court and bus stop. The walk to the non preferred rooms may not really be that long, but after hoofing it in the parks all day, it can sure feel that long!

I totally agree with this if you're staying at Music. But if you're staying at Pop, keep in mind that there are many standard rooms that are closer to or the same distance to the transportation and the food court as preferred rooms and are much quieter.

The problem being that while you could request one of those rooms, there is no guarantee you will get one. My track record with requests is pretty darned horrible, so I'd rather pay for preferred and know I'm going to have a good location.

We've stayed at Pop five times now (2 preferred/3 standard rooms). Our track record for room requests is not great either. At Pop, we've gotten our requests met 2 out of our 5 stays - which is above average compared to the other resorts we've stayed at.

For me, I just don't consider many of the preferred rooms at Pop to be in a good location, so I will always choose standard here from now on.

So far we've stayed at POP, AoA and ASSports - never had a bad trip in any of them.

My personal preference would be AoA purely for the theming. I love the Little Mermaid :)

Sports is nice even if you're not a sporty person, the only downside (and it's no biggie to us) is that sometimes you have to share buses.

POP is a fun resort, never stopped in the preferred room so can't comment on the pro/cons to that.

AoA is pretty much a newer version of POP, except the food court is excellent in my opinion. They have a cracking choice on their menu. So if you choose to stay at POP and you fancy a change then you could always take a nice walk over the bridge and visit their food court.

At either both POP and AoA I've never considered the walk from room to bus stop/food court to be that bad. We don't walk at the fastest of paces and it barely takes any time. So if it was me it would be a toss up between the two resorts and I would pick the cheapest. You'll have an amazing time either way.

I will also give a little mention to the POP food court.... It's fun to get dragged into the dance they do in the morning. I had a popping good time doing the twist ;)

Another vote for POP here. We have stayed there 4 times (we prefer the 50s section :)) and have thoroughly loved it 3 out of the 4 times. (The one time we did not was because they were undergoing refurbishment and we had a lot of noise in the area where they put us.) We love the theming, the food court and have had good luck w transportation.
We stayed at ASMusic once and thought it was just ok. We stayed at AoA once in the Little Mermaid area, and we don't plan on returning. The LM section is very far out of the way and not close to transportation and food court. More than once on that trip we wished we were at Pop!
Enjoy!!
