My DH is considering changing our resort from CBR to a Value Resort to save money. We have never stayed at a Value. I love CBR!!

Which Value Resort is best?

I love CBR too, but lately we've been staying at Pop. There is a lovely walkway along the lake, and everytime but one we've had a room that overlooks the lake! At no extra charge!! I like the oversized icons too!! The rooms are smaller, but we don't spend a lot of time in there anyway and I prefer to spend the price difference on other extras!

I like Pop a lot too. There are dedicated buses and there is only 1 stop. The foodcourt is very good and the pools are great, especially the kiddie pool, with a cushioned surround and a lot of fountains. There is also a super fun splashground too. The Icons are fun and make for great photo ops too - my son keeps asking when we are going back to see Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head!

Thanks for the info. I love walking around the lake at the CBR so that's great that the POP has one too.

Thanks neighbor (about 30 miles north of you). That is great about the Bus however, we will not be using the buses. I find it too much of an inconvenience with our stroller. The kiddie pool and splashground sounds wonderful! My boys would love it.

We usually end up at a value because we spend very little time in our room at all. The last time we went though, we stayed at Riverside. My youngest is finally too old for a crib so we needed to stay somewhere with a pullout bed. We didn't want to pay more for a suite or adjoining room. So I think we are stuck at moderates now that there is 5 of us, unless a value offers pull out beds or cots. I am going with just my mom and oldest dd in 2 weeks. We are staying at POP for the first time.

Another vote for Pop! (couldn't get Pop for Sept. so we're going to ASMo for the first time:sad1: )

We only stayed in a MOD one time and really was not as happy there as we are at value resorts.

Actually I still prefer Sports to POP staying at POP in Sept because the main pool at Sports is closed.

I like the ICONS at POP better the pool better at Sports the lay out of room better at Sports. Having 3 pools at POP has it's advantages I'm sure. The fountain is neat for kids.

What about one of the suites now offered? I know they sleep 5 or more and I got to peak in one at the Music and it looked very nice.

I vote for POP as well, we've stayed there twice and the only complaint is that the rooms are pretty small, but we're not in there that much anyway, so it's tolerable. It's a lot of fun to walk around and look at the icons, and the shadowboxes in Classic Hall. The menus in the foodcourt could use a bit of an update/change since they're exactly the same as they were 2 years ago (even the signs, and they're quite faded looking now! One of the first things we noticed walking in this time)

Of course, POP is the only value we've stayed at, so I have nothing to compare it to, but we liked it enough to go back.

I think the POP is also a better resort. I think the Disney Imagineers learned from the All Stars and improved on them when they designed the Pop.

The only thing I didn't like about the Pop is that it feels somewhat isolated from the parks. Maybe that is just a feeling I got.

hey you can enjoy Epcot fireworks from Pop - all star is the one that is far away....

Love Pop, lake, pools, frozen coke!

I have to put my vote in for ASMo! Everytime we have stayed here it has been great!

We tried POP last year and did not like it. WHile it is newer we found that it was to removed, the mousekeeping was awful, and the front desk service was not up to normal Disney standard.

Of the values, we've only stayed at POP, but we liked it. Rooms and public areas were nicely maintained- our mousekeeper couldn't have been better. Pools were nice. It was a bit noisier than POFQ, where we've stayed before, but we were happy with it.

Hands down, POP is the best value resort. I've stayed deluxe, moderate and value (Pop and ASMo). I had an absolute blast there plus there are several feature pools instead of just one. The theming is the best---I LOVE the huge 8-track tapes and Mickey phone at the 70s building.

Only value we've been to is All Star Movies and did it two years in a row. Our little girls loved opening the door on the third floor and looking right out at Pongo...or was it Perdita? Anyways, the building was close to the pool and to the food court for our drink refill cups. Like others have said, we spent more time at the parks anyways, so the smaller room was no problem.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I couldn't decide between ASMo and POP. My youngest DS will be 1 when we go so we will need a crib or pack n play which will take up some room. I thought it was going to be a tight squeeze at CBR which is bigger than the other Mods. :scared1:

He still hasn't made a decision. I'm just so happy to go back "home".

We've stayed at CBR & POR twice. We've also enjoyed our stay at AS Sports & Movies. Love the laid back feeling at CBR & POR but the icons are great at the All Stars. The rooms aren't that much different in size. Room arrangement is more efficient at AS so you don't miss that extra 50 sq ft. Biggest difference is only one sink and a little bit smaller dresser. Food courts are comparable at mods and values. We have never shared a bus at AllStars. AS price makes it worth it at peak or holiday season.

It was fun to try different resorts.

Back to Disney for Christmas with 1,000,000 other of our closest friends.
Enjoy
