I know that the value resorts offer preferred rooms
with king beds. The questions is: Do any of them
have bathtubs, or are they all handicapped rooms with
just showers?

Thank you in advance for your help!

I know there is at least one at Pop Century that has a king bed and a regular bathroom with shower/tub. Realize that getting that kind of configuration could be even more difficult than just requesting any king bed room since those are hard enough to get without paying extra.

Thanks, Disnut8,

I don't mind paying the extra, but
the tub is more important than the
bed!

King beds at value resorts are "request" only. There is no guarantee that you will get it. If you're set on a king bed you can book one as a room category at the moderate resorts.

I have a friend who has to get a king bed every time he goes to Disney. Once when he was checking in, the cast member looked up at him (he's 7 foot 2 inches tall) and asked why he couldn't sleep in a regular bed. He may have been able to lay diagonally but he does have a wife that wasn't willing to sleep on the floor.

:wizard: We have stayed there before and always have requested and gotten a kingsize bed. We have had both a regular tub and a walk in one.. We didnt request either one......You may have to be a bit open if a king size bed is more important to you. It can't hurt to ask for exactly what you want!
HAve fun!

We ALWAYS get a king size bed. then the kids sleep on an air mattress.
I also believe that every room we have has were actually handicapped rooms.
GOOD LARGE BATHROOMS!
I always ask for a king and so far...we have gotten one.

I've asked for a King Bed on every stay at a Value resort for DH & I (they've been for our anniversary trips) and have NEVER gotten one. Didn't matter what time of day we checked in either. The only time we actually got a King Bed (and didn't request it) was our stay at the Wilderness Lodge in April. Good luck getting a king bed. We've stayed onsite 25+ times.............:rolleyes1

Oh I'm surprised that Disney(Value Resorts) would let you do that. As far as I knew, King Size Beds were only meant for occupancy of two individuals in a room. If you had more than 2 people, automatically you would get the two double beds.

Ha - that's been my experience, too! I stayed countless times at values and never got a king bed. But at WL, I don't ask and I got them twice. King beds there tend to be handicapped-assessible and on the ground floor, so no view, no balcony, and no tub. I hated those rooms. I am staying at WL again next month, and no matter what I request, I know once again I will get a ground floor handicapped-assessible king bed room. Just watch. Sigh.

I remember I did pay for king beds at CBR and CSR, and both had tubs but with extra handbars attached to the walls.

Disney assigns your party of more than two people, all age three or above, to a room with one bed? Interesting...

To the OP: There are more than 140 but less than 150 king-bed rooms at Pop Century - eighty-something standard and sixty-something accessible, or the other way around. I'm going to say the total is 144, just for my convenience/ease of calculation. That's five percent of all rooms - so you have a one in twenty chance of getting a king bed. You obviously increase your chances by requesting that type room, and by, um, oh right - having only one or two people in your party.

That's the type of room we got in April. But our ground floor room was a pool view with a patio & it was perfect. We could sit out there & people watch & relax. Had birds, squirrels and rabbits come up to the patio - so cute! I'd go there or AKL again in a heartbeat!!:cutie:

I would have enjoyed that ground floor room, too! Much better than what I got!!! He's my view looking left from my ground floor king bed handicapped-assessible room at WL:

I did step out a few steps off the patio to take the photo. I was smack next to the loading dock. :sad2: UGHHHHH ....

On my next trip in February, I paid for woods view, and I know there is a huge possibility I will get this ground floor king HA room again, or one very close ..... :(

Never been asked about children, they DO ask how many adults in our party.
but if that is a "rule" its a rule we have never encountered.
When we check in, i ask about that type of a room. We almost always go during the "slow" season so maybe thats why....:confused3

We always get asked "how many in our party" - not just adults alone. If you book on the website it also asks how many adults & children so you've been very lucky to get a king bed in a value resort when you have children accompanying you. I just get frustrated when we request a king bed for 2 adults celebrating anniversaries & can't get one................:confused3
