Value Resorts and Inside Staterooms? Bah Humbug! 30 days of Disney fun! 02/10 Day 30

Disneyland Paris - Day 3

As we had had an early night the day before we were able to get up real early, had breakfast, packed the rest of our things and were out of our little villa by 8.30am! We both could not believe that we actually did it!!

Once we had stowed everything in the car, we dropped the keys in the keybox and off we went towards the Disneyland parking lot. We were surprise to see that there was NO line at that time and we just briefly stopped, showed our Annual Pass and off we went to find a spot to park our car. We were lucky enough to find one close to the walkway and started our trail towards the front entrance. We made it through bag check and into the park for Morning Extra Magic Hour.

It was by then around 9.30 and we headed for Peter Pan’s Flight, but we were stunned they already had quite a line and we did not fancy being in it. So we just walked around Fantasyland, as there is not much to do here on Extra Magic Hours, only Dumbo, Peter Pan and the Carousel are open. Closer to 10pm we headed to the far left of the roped off area and once the rope was dropped we headed over to Big Thunder Mountain, so we could maybe pick up a Fast Pass to ride before we had to leave by 11.30. There had already formed a line at the Fast Pass distribution, but it moved quickly so we got in it and picked up two Fast Passes, which were good for 11.15 pm. We could not have timed it any better. Since we had to wait for our Fast Pass to come around any way we wandered over to the Indiana Jones Ride.

It had a 5 minute wait posted, so there was no doubt this was the line to get into. Once we came to the top of the line we discovered that there was no line at all. So on we got and enjoyed the ride. And when we got off we got right in line again and rode a second time. After the second time we had a little time to kill before we could ride Big Thunder Mountain railroad, so we decided to check if the Cowboy Cookout Barbecue was already open. They were serving drinks from 11am on, so that was fine since we weren’t hungry anyway.

We were the first customer, had to wait a second until the cash registers were working and then ordered our drinks and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. It was nice to just sit and enjoy the cool air conditioned room.

Disneyland Paris - Day 3

By 11.15 we made our way over to Big Thunder, handed over our Fast Passes and got in line. We were offered a seat in the second to last road and were very happy with it. Tom and I love BTMR so this was the perfect ride to finish our trip with.

When it was over we got off, took some more photos of the Haunted Mansion, the Riverboat, Thunder Mesa and finally we headed towards the exit.

On the way out I remembered that I had left our postcards in the car, so we needed to find a postbox on the way to the airport. Since we were close to the Santa Fe Resort, we both figured we could at least try to ask if they would let us put our cards into their mailbox. When the guy at the guard post saw the postcards, he just laughed and waved us in. After mailing my so important mail we headed to the gas station and filled up the car.

There was not much traffic and we were at the airport in about 45 minutes. We returned the car, headed over to the self check in stands for Lufthansa, to print out our boarding cards and dropped off our luggage. There was more than enough time to have a little snack, so we went to the ground floor of CDG airport, where all the restaurants are located and got some food.

We shared a slice of pizza and a slice of Quiche Lorraine and had the last of our drinks. It was then time to get in line for the first leg of our trip home, the flight to Frankfurt. The flight was on time and we got some drinks and a ham sandwich as our snack.

IMG_5038.jpg

The flight takes about an hour and we arrived a little ahead of time. Once landed we had to walk all across the airport to get to our new gate. The plane was at an outside spot, so when they finally started boarding we had to get on a bus first to take us out to the plane. But once we were on it, it did not take long and we were airbourne again.

This time we were offered two small chocolate and vanilla cakes and some drinks. After 50 minutes we had reached our destination and picked up our suitcases to head outside to the car park. We were home early, but at least there was a little time to relax before it was time to go back to work.

Okay, that was it! Disneyland Paris done - now off to more WDW planning!

I love seeing all the pics of DLRP. I like to see the differences between the park and the MK...and also the many similarities. It would have been interesting to see how Walt himself would have imagined a park in Paris.

Great last update for Paris!!! :goodvibes

Less than thirty days until you (and I :woohoo:) are in WDW!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Is that your school's pool? It is gorgeous!

Love the restaurant at BTMR - that is my kind of theming!
So excited to see so many updates when I got back to work. Love updates, love pictures, love Disney :goodvibes

Love the updates. I can't beleive the trip is over already. But I do know that ANOTHER trip will be starting soon. :woohoo::woohoo:

I'll try to take even more photo when we go for Halloween on Oct 30! We will have 4 full days to spend then, so no rush whatsoever!
You know that Tom and I OFTEN wonder what Walt's reaction to "his empire" would be. I won't forget that it was all started by a mouse - as this MOUSE now rules my world! ;) :lmao:

Unfortunately we don't have a school pool! That's the public pool which the school is allowed to use for a small fee.

And I love the Cowboy Cookout Barbecue restaurant too! You would have to look hard to find many matching chairs and even the tables are not all the same. That's what I love so much about Disney resorts - the themeing is done perfectly!

After it took me nearly 6 weeks to post three days - I don't want to think about how long it will take me to post 30 days!! :scared1: But I will, believe me!
I am glad to hear that Mark is doing better, but what about you? Are you feeling any better or did you have to go to an ER?

No, I didn't go to ER and still don't feel good. I have a doctor appointment with my doctor (she is a block away from my office) tomorrow morning.

Please take it very easy until then! I hope you didn't have to go to work today - nothing worse than feeling horrible and having to work!
