We are planning a cruise next year with week long stay at WDW before hand and am thinking of staying at a value resort. I am concerned about noise. Are there any rooms to stay away from?
Are the rooms closer to the pools noisier or all the rooms pretty sound proof? Thanks.

We stayed at ASMO last year and had no excessive noise at all. We loved it. We were on the 3rd floor in the Woody building facing out back. Yes, we could hear the occasional group of people going by talking, but thats pretty standard anywhere, and it wasnt very often. I would think the rooms facing the pools would be louder during the daytime hours. I know some people have mentioned hearing "turbo toilets" flushing at the All Stars but we heard nothing like that(only ours ;) ).
We really enjoyed it there and are planning to stay there again this year.

We stayed at ASMu last October, in the Broadway Buildings, facing the parking lot, third floor. We heard very little noise at all, and were quite happy with the location. I think the third floor rooms are usually quieter, and I would agree that a room away from the elevators or pool area would be best, if you want a quiet one!

We stayed at the Movies last year and were very pleased. We were in the Buzz building on the other side of Andy's room and found the rooms to be quiet. We had a connecting room, so we could occassionally hear the people next door, but for the most part it was muffeled. We were on the first floor. The way the Buzz buildings are, there are 2 next to each other that face the Woody buildings. The rooms on the other side face the road leading to the parking lot and has some trees in the middle. I think if you request a room towards the end of the building, on the 3rd floor, there is less noise. Also, the Buzz and Woody buildings are near one of the parking lots, which came in handy when the kids fell asleep. Less of a hike to get back to the room with a sleeping or tired child in tow. We were very pleased with housekeeping, as well as with the food in the foodcourt. I think if you get a room away from the pool & playground, it is quieter.

We stayed at ASsports last June and loved it. We were in the baseball building, 1st floor, facing the parking lot. Very, very quiet!! The only drawback, it was a bit far from the buses and food court. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Have a wonderful trip!
