Value Resort availability during FD (Sept)

I'm considering changing our trip to Sept to take advantage of FD. We're flexible on dates. Has anyone had any experience with no availability/FD at the value resorts (mainly the All Stars or Pop)? I'm waiting on my parents to decide if they want to come along in September before I call and try to change our ressies, so just wondering.

go to the Disney website and pretend to book it and see if pop shows up as available.

Yes, the closer to September you are, the more likely no FD rooms will be available. Better to book sooner than later.

last year for FD i was booked at pop and we had to change to all star movies where there were rooms available for free dining. i believe the CM on the phone told me that i had to pick there or all star sports. it was no problem for us we were happy with movies.

They book up fast because it is the best bang for your buck.
