I was pretty much set on doing POP for our anniversary trip. But now the more I check out the resorts I am really considering doing POR. I like that there is a water taxi for Downtown as we plan on spending some times there during this trip.

So to all you frequent Disney visitors is it worth the extra $ to do a moderate or should we stick with POP?

We have stayed both Values & Mods. We have enjoyed all of our stays. the Pluses for Mods: Hot Tub, Queen Beds(not CBR) and for POR yes the boat to DTD is very nice, TS place to eat. I think that the resort choice is very important for the trip kinda of sets the tone of the trip.

We're not fans of the values at all, beds, overrun children, non themed pools etc..

We were fans of deluxes but stumbled upon the mods, especially and only POFQ, and have stayed there 2 times and looking for the third stay there in October...

We enjoy the size , compactness , of FQ over Riverside more for ease of getting anywhere with the resort property... Good food court, decent pool, boat to DTD and sisters with POR for a walk over...

For peace of mind, not in your face Disney, queen beds its got to be a moderate... For us, anything is better than a value and not to many will beat POFQ..

Also; POR has carriage rides, what's better than an anniversary carriage ride:)

I would stay at POR. As you have noticed, the boat ride to DTD is a huge plus. A much nicer (and usually quicker) way of traveling than a bus.

I also think POR has a very peaceful feel to it. Much more relaxing than one of the value resorts.

We have stayed at both. I like value. We are not in the rooms long enough to enjoy them. If I'm at Disney I like to be in the parks or around.

That's what DH & I did this past April. Absolutely loved it. The carriage ride with Lori was magical.

Our anniversary trip a few years back staying at pop was miserable. So bad that after a lengthy email to Disney we got compensation. Gave pop one more try this past December & it was worse including rude managers at check in. So no more pop & no more values at all. We absolutely love POR especially the queen beds. Big plus!!

You don't have to stay there to do the carriage rides.

I agree with POR. FQ is very nice as well but for 2 adults riverside is more romantic.

As long as it doesn't bust your budget I would go with POR in a heartbeat! Especially for an Anniversary trip:love:

They have, in my opinion, one of the best food courts on property. There's also a singer in the lounge at night (I forget his name) that's very entertaining.

I COMPLETELY agree!!! :thumbsup2

I ADORE the values and I almost always stay there. But for a special occasion trip w/2 adults, _I_ would upgrade to POR or POFQ.

We are going in December for our 25th anniversary and staying at POP. We wouldn't stay any other place.

Without a doubt, for an anniversary trip go for POR if you can afford it. It is much more relaxed and it's better suited for your kind of trip! Much more options for both of you!

I'd go with POR. We've never stayed at a value and the only mod we've stayed at is CBR, but if it were me, it would be worth the extra to upgrade to a mod.

Same here, but we enjoyed POR and POFQ more no matter how much time we spent at the resort. One must arrive and depart. The differences of just that in a resort category will be detected. But prove it to yourself and find a way to stay at value one visit and moderate the next in whatever order the flip of a coin demands.

Just returned from our anniversary trip to POR ... it was awesome. Perfect setting, mansions section is romantic, beautiful, ... perfect.

We did visit some other resorts, Pop cent and AoA ... and are thinking about our return trip doing a split stay, 1 week value 1 week POR ... just because the first 4 or 5 days we hardly spend any time at our resort, too busy pounding the parks.

But you can't go wrong with POR, and since you can -usually- get 20-30% off, if you can go when its less busy anyway, it does bring down the price nicely.

For two adults?? GO TO POR!!!!! Thats my fave moderate resort! Its sooooo beautiful and lush. The rooms are nice. Plus the water taxi to DTD is a bonus! we love DTD.

Dont forget at POR you have bike rentals, a horse/carriage ride, and a hot tub! :thumbsup2 I love pop, but POR is waaaaay better.
