Validity of Passport

Does anyone know what the minimum passport validity requirement is for France? Is it 3 or 6 months?

I have read somewhere it is 90 days not sure where but according to this sitehttp://www.ambafrance-uk.org/Frequently-Asked-Question.html there is no minimum, you just need it to be valid when you return.

Thanks Nikki. My OH's passport runs out 4 months after we get back so should be fine.

Now I'm confused. I've just been looking through Cresta's travel brochure for DLP and they say it has to be valid for 6 months!

Does anyone know who I can contact to get a definate answer? Thanks

I don't know the answer, but if its any help, I just renewed my & DH's passports, and it only took 8 days through the Post Office service, plus you are allowed to add up to 9 months, so I renewed my passport even though its not due for renewal until October. That might be the answer for you, to renew now even though you don't actually need to.

I have just looked on the French consulate site http://www.consulfrance-londres.org/spip.php?article543 and it backs up that you just need a valid passport for your trip.
