Personally I would get it done, thereby reducing any worrying you may do between now and the arrival in America, I just wouldn't entertain the risk. The price of the passport is a lot less than the cost of a holiday that you may not be able to go on.

When we went to Florida last year DS's passport expired a couple of weeks after we were due to return. No problems there. I was in the US at the beginning of January with my passport that expires in March, without any problem. I've just renewed it (my new picture is very bad hair day and makes me look rubbish) and DW's and they both took about a week for the new ones to come through.

It seems as if it is perfectly ok but for your own peace of mind it might be worth getting it done. You don't want a Bridezilla moment at Immigration of all places

Mine is just 14 days short of 6 months and after hearing everyone's experiences I'm still umming and ahhing too!!

Hmmm well let's look at it, we have people saying they have actually travelled with much less and it's fine.
No-one has actually come on here and said they got denied entry, just that they'd get it done to be safe.
I'd previously heard that someone had their passport looked at a bit funny for a few minutes (maybe they just had a funny passport photo ), but again, I've never actually heard of anyone not being let in...
