Valet Parking - when do you pay?

So typically we stay Moderate and just park the car. This trip we are staying CR and I think it would be nice to Valet the car so that DH (who isn't going to the parks with us) will have the opportunity to have the cool down process started on the car when he gets in.

Will they charge this to the room if we choose Valet or will he need cash? I have seen others say you just pay at the Valet but that was more for parking and then going to one of the parks.

Also tipping the Valet? $5.00 sound right? Thanks!!!

I almost always use Valet (didn't one time at BWV). They charge it to your room and it will appear on your bill when you check out. I usually tip the bell people $1/bag and the valet $5 when arriving and $5 when checking out. I don't know if they pool their tips or not, usually there will be the guy who parks the car and the guy who takes the luggage out and tags it, in that case the guy tagging luggage usually gets the $5 since I'm assuming they pool.

Yes, you can have it added to the room bill at the CR. I would recommend this because, sometimes, if you pay at the valet station it gets added to the room bill as well and then you have to get it settled.

$2-3 when picking a car up is "traditional" and still commonplace, customary tips haven't increased to keep up with inflation. $5 is nice and easy because it means carrying fewer small bills and the valet will appreciate it. But, this is a matter of "what you are comfortable with?" This may also be affected by how often you drop off and pick up. Tipping when dropping the car off isn't customary, but is common (maybe half do so).

While paying for valet parking at the CR, you get to use valet parking throughout the resort.
