Valet parking and preferred, what the difference?

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is the deal with the 2 hours of Valet parking and the rest of the day free!
I copied this from the Annual pass section of their web site.
Can anyone shed any light, what do you get exactly? How much is it?

'Free self-parking each time you visit or pay for 2 hours of Valet and get the rest of the day for free.
$4.00 preferred parking'

I'm sorry if this is blindingly obvious to all...

Not a clue!! But preferred parking is SO not worth the $4, IMO.

Two hours of valet parking is around $8 and all day is $16, so essentially if you use valet parking all day, then it's 1/2 price for AP holders.
