I contacted them yesterday and they replied telling me that they are available for my wedding. Their prices for hair and makeup are reasonable and I thought it would be nice to treat myself and my MOH to a massage before the ceremony. Anyone use them or know anything about their work?

Alright...so I just booked them for massages and hair (no makeup, I prefer to do my own) for both my MOH and myself. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get what I want!

How did it work out with Valencia? I appreciate your input. Thanks!

I ended up cancelling and going with Beaute Speciale...I freaked out when I couldn't find an info on them. I'm sure they are fine but I'm I was a Nervous Nelly...lol!

I think that might have been a wise choice. I forget who's pj I was reading but they went with Valencia and regretted it big time!

Good to hear all this candid info. I also dug around on the internet and found a bunch of negative reviews about them.

I have decided to go with Salon Salon. They are pricey, but took the time to chat with me for a while and discuss how they would approach doing hair and makeup for 6 girls. They are also accomodating me for my engagement pics so I can meet the person who will be doing my hair in advnace of the wedding. I have super curly/frizzy:eek: hair and the humidity in Florida gives my hair a mind of its own.

malaea3... you should also look at Patricia LeJeune's website....

I am mixed (black and white) with super thick, long (middle of back when straightened), super curly hair. Hairstylists have actually backed out of doing my hair, 10 minutes after starting, because they weren't used to my hair texture or the sheer volume of it. So I was VERY VERY worried about finding a stylist. I have also had horrible experiences with makeup artists who don't have experience with women of my color.

But on Patricia's website the brides are so diverse, it makes me feel better. And they all look so BEAUTIFUL. Also I love how natural and beautiful all of their makeup looks.

Lurkyloo used her for her engagement pics and I think she may still have the pics in her PJ.

I just retained her for a trial and the wedding. She was so sweet on the phone and I expressed my concern about how difficult my hair is to work with and she completely made me relax. On her request, I sent her a word document with pics of my hair, my dress, my veil and pics of how I would love my hair to look.

The only thing is that she took a month to get back to me. It was during the holidays though. I emailed, filled out the form on her website and left her a message. And when she got back to me she apologized profusely and explained how busy she had been with weddings over the holidays.

HaHa I totally understand the whoe hairstylists not wanting to do your hair thing. The same has happpened to me. So frustrating.

Thanks for the recommendation. LeJeune's was my first choice but they were only available to start at 11:30 which I though was pushing it for a 2:30 ceremony. I really dont want to be rushed. Salon Salon gave me very similar service. She was really nice and also request pics of my hair. I hope to use them for my engagement pics to make 100% sure im ok with them. If not, Im flying my hairdresser from ATL down. Who I know will do a great job. :worship:
