Just wondering.....where would you be most likely to purchase or add on: Villas at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney's Contemporary Resort Villas, or Disney's Grand Californian Villas?

(EDIT: I meant to say them, not time, in option 4.)

I'd take Disneyland in a heartbeat. I'd dump my SSR to pay for it.
BTW, there isn't any land around the Grand Californian to build anything. There's Dumbo parking and a lot behind the Paradise Pier but no much else. I'd expect a DVC to be built nearby, perhaps on the much-speculated strawberry fields.

I voted for the Grand Californian.
I think AKL would be better, but Disneyland is so great that a DVC is needed at DLR more than another at WDW.

... Absolutely, positively, NO interest in the Contemporary. :)

I originally was fascinated with the idea of the Contemporary DVC. But now that I am hearing more and more rumors about a possible AKL DVC that has my interest. There is just something about the AKL that captivates me. I could sit in that lobby for hours. I think sitting on the balcony of my DVC room at the AKL watching the animals would be the perfect vacation. :goodvibes

I just recently stayed at the AKL and despite the fact that the resort is spectacular and the views are stunning, it was just too inconvenient for us. We like to go to the parks, hit it hard and then come back, rest, shower and then go out to eat nice. We spent too much time waiting for busses to get us from the AKL to where we were going. We are wanting to stay closer.

I don't know if I would want to stay and the Contemporary, but it would be nice if they had a DVC resort on the Monorail even if it is built from scratch

I voted for VAKL. Contemporary holds no interest to me and I've never even been to CA, so I'm not sure about that option.

Count me in for a CA DVC :thumbsup2 I'm sure if there was an AKV I'd try it at least once.

I voted for the CR though I personally would prefer AKL because I think it will be more valuable in the long run. But I suppose that's a debatable point and I might feel AKL is the better choice tomorrow.

I vote for California, but not necessarily just because of Disneyland. I would be more interested in DVC spreading out to other regions of the country than adding on at Disney World, and there is obviously nothing west of Orlando at the moment. A DVC in Anaheim would serve as a great 'home base' for a vacation in Southern California.

I love DVC and love our time in Orlando, but I would like Disney to continue to spread out into other areas like Marriott does. A DVC at Disneyland makes sense to Disney, and would allow it's members to use their points for something other than Florida or S. Caroina every so often.

Just my opinion.

I regards to the dream of a Grand Californian Villas, I does look like there's enough land on the south side of the Grand Californian Hotel to build this "wing".

We already know that Disney execs. are talking about expanding the Grand Californian, but whether it will be a DVC expansion remains a mystery. :scratchin

I voted VAKL... I told DW the only way we would add-on at WDW again is if VAKL became a reality...

That being said... It may be cool to have something out in CA...

I voted VAKL because it is one of our favorite resorts, but I would also love to see a DVC at the GC in CA.

We visited DL in May and really enjoyed it, although we stayed at PP. The GC is nice, felt like being at the WL (ate there a few times, and used it for the DTD shortcut), and I think DL could benefit from more DISNEY resort options. Lord knows they don't need another outside vendor resort around the parks.

Although I can't envision where they would put DVC villas. It seems there is literally no room between the GCH and the CA park on the right and DTD on the left. Where would it go?

My wife and I were talking about this same thing at dinner last night. I told her that when I lived in Colorado, alot of the hotels converted a floor or two into timeshares. I don't see why the Grand Californian can't do the same thing. They'd just offer them up as studios

There's room for a DVC wing at the GCH on the south side of the resort (just to the southwest of the pool area). Right now there's a large grassy area there next to a parking lot.

Disney execs have been talking about expanding the GCH, and this is the only place I can see where there is room to expand it, unless they build up instead of out.

Here's hoping for a Disneyland DVC! :woohoo:
