Vacuum Cleaners in the Villas

This might seem like a crazy question, but can anyone tell me if the vacuum cleaners on the villas have hoses on them? I'm thinking of getting "Space Bags" (https://www.spacebag.com/) so we can fit everything in carry-ons and avoid the checked baggage fees when we fly. They have travel versions which do not require a vacuum, but I don't believe they are as efficient.

Where are you staying?

The vacuum cleaners at BWV are the upright models and AFAIK, they do not have hose attachments.

Maybe the vacuums at the other DVC resorts are differetn, but I do not think so.

Have you used the bags before? If not, you should be prepared to wear wrinkles or to use the iron & ironing boards.

One of the reasons we get a 1 bedroom villa is to have the washer and dryer in the room. That decxreases what we need a lot! But if you are staying in a studio, it's not nearly as convenient.

No attachments on the vacuums at BCV or OKW so you can't use space bags there either.

What's an iron? :confused3 Seriously, I haven't used one of them in years, that's what dryers are for!

Thank you for the feedback, I guess I will just have to pack light and fit all of our clothes in one suitcase. I think we can do it if we take advantage of the washer and dryer. Fortunately, I think we will be flying US Air and they only charge $15 for the first bag. It is really annoying the nickle and diming that the airlines do, but I guess it's just a reality we have to deal with.

We just got an Owners Locker & went down with only carry-ons in May and I purchased several sets of the packing cubes from eBags.com which worked WONDERFULLY well and I brought some of the compression space bags (from Bed, Bath & Beyond) that do not need a vacuum hose. You just roll the air out - they probably don't consolidate as much as the ones that use the vacuum hose but they DO hold a fair amount. I used those for our dirty laundry for the return trip!! I got just almost all of our dirty laundry from a 4 nite trip into 3 of the "medium" size ones. What didn't fit in those went into one of the "large" packing cubes. Made for easy unpacking too!:thumbsup2

I tried these space bags out at home for a few days with some fresh out of the dryer laundry & decided I couldn't deal with all the wrinkles since I'm one of those people who iron everything before we go. But they were fine for the dirty stuff!!:lmao: I also put some Downey Wrinkle Release in our OL 'cuz once I iron it once I'm not looking to RE-iron it!! I rolled the clothes to put in the packing cubes & I was genuinely impressed with how much I was able to get into them and with how organized they made everything. I am going to order some more cubes before our next trip...

Anyway, I swear by the packing cubes now!! LOVED them! I did a review / rating after my initial purchase so I have a 20% discount on my next order which is the price that's showing up on this link...

Dirty laundry? What's that? I never bring home dirty laundry.

Oh come on! You know...it's that stuff that some of us refuse to do while we're on vacation...ranks right up there with cooking & cleaning toilets!! :lmao: :rolleyes1

What's cooking and cleaning toilets? I don't even do them at home.

:rotfl:But I DO do them at home the other 51 weeks of the year which is why I feel perfectly justified in saying I am NOT going to do them on my vacation!!

OP - between the Space Bags and the Packing Cubes they really do help become a more efficient packer.:thumbsup2
