Vacationing at WDW: How long between trips?

If we were closer, we'd try to make it every year- as is, we have to buy airplane tickets for six people- from west coast to east coast- and that's just too dang expensive :scared1: Right now, it looks like we are going to be on a three year schedule- which is okay with me, although I'd prefer to be back sooner!

We DO go to DLR about once a year, if not more, and for ME, it doesn't have the magic of WDW. That may be due to going too often or because DLR and CA are much smaller then the whole of WDW.

:surfweb: Thanks for all the posts! It makes me realize that every 3 years isnt a bad span to visit (or not visit) the Mouse! I think we will do a Cruise (prob not DCL) next spring and then WDW in 2011. :goodvibes That will put us having gone in '08 and then in '11.... :worship: I will still have mouse fever, but thats what I have the DIsBoards for, right??:confused3

We have a plan similar to Puffkin. We get APs and go 4 or 5 times that year. Then we take a break and do other things, like beach or cruise. Then we get annual waterpark/DisneyQuest passes and do that several times. Then other things, then APs again. We probably get APs every 3 -5 years depending on when new things open.
We have DVC and will even go down without going to the parks.
I do not think the magic wears off at all. As our kids grew up, they liked different parks. I remember DH's surprise when they wanted to go to EPCOT over and over after hating it for so long. We did not like AK the first few years but now like it. HS was not so great when it first opened but is great now. MK will always be a timeless classic. There are so many memories as we walk from ride to ride.

2-3 times a year (7-11 nights each trip)

We're in DVC!! :dance3:

We usually go once a year but we leave for another visit next week and we were just there for a week in August.

Well, we planned to make it an annual trip, but this has been our schedule thus far:

Jan 2006 - 3 nights
Jan 2007 - 6 nights
July 2007 - 6 nights
April 2008 - 7 nights
April 2009 - 6 nights
August 2009 - 7 nights followed by 4 night DCL

The July 2007 and April 2009 trips were not in the master vacation plan (and I do have one ...:rotfl: ).

We do vacation other places ... but it seems like so much work to map out and plan a new destination. We are going to CA for 10 days in 2010 and I'm already stressing about where to stay, what to do and how to get there. I'm lazy and Disney is really easy with kids. You know how people rent the same beach house every year? That is kind of what Disney has become to us ... that dependable beach house with the familiar ice cream place down the street.
