I am looking at this place as a possible timeshare
exchange. Does anyone have any updated info
on this place?

I have never stayed there, but they are very close to the Hampton Inn & the now closed Hyatt. It is an easy commute to the Disney Parks.... and an easy on & off for I-4. That is about all I can help you with. Maybe by me bumping this up, others will read it & help you.....:D

I posted about this place a couple of weeks ago and got NO responses...there just doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there about this place....although to ME, it looks fantastic, especially with the good deals on SkyAuction, etc.

Go onto www.tripadvisor.com and read the reviews about it...they are pretty consistent about how great the property itself IS, although there seem to be some serious timeshare sharks in the lobby...I'd say if you told them "I already own" like several people do though, they leave you alone...

In The Unnoficial Guide to Disney, they list it as a TOP RANKED property and it is one of the very lowest commute times listed.

Hope this helps somewhat -- I was in the same quandry and still wanting DIS reviews...

We stayed there last Summer and thought it was a very nice place. We had won a week through skyauction for a 1-Bedroom unit. It is a smaller resort and may not have all the activities as a place like OLCC but we never utilize the activites much so it did not bother us.

Some people dislike the pool layout as it's surrounded by buildings and may not offer as much direct sunlight early in the morning or in the evenings.

I tried to get a week there again this year through skyauction but nothing was coming up for our dates. I would not hesitate staying there again if we had the opportunity. We did not have any pressue to attend a meeting either, which was nice.

It is very close to the parks and allows for an easy return for an afternoon break before heading back to the parks for the evening.

I do have some pictures of the 1 bedroom unit we stayed in last Summer. If your interested, pm me and I can see about emailing/posting them.

We really enjoyed our stay here in February. Very nice, clean, with a short and easy drive to the parks. No timeshare sharks bothered us at all -- they knew we had gotten a great deal through Armed Forces Vacation Club and were not interested in buying. We had a two-bedroom unit which was really two separate one-bedroom units combined. I cannot think of anything negative to say about this place. Would definitely consider staying there again!

I've stayed at this place twice; no complaints. Very nice layout of rooms, spacious, very, very clean. The two-bedrooms have lock off sections. Convenient location. Across the street from Disney's town of Celebration on Rte 192.

I am actually going there for my honeymoon for August 2-9 this year. I am so excited. 39 more days until I am in Florida. My grandmother bought a timeshare there about three years ago and she is sending my fiancé and I down there as a wedding present.

From what I saw when I was down there last it was pretty nice. The pool was being refurnished but I am sure it is done by now.

Since we are on the subject does anyone know of a place to get cheap universal studio tickets? (If this isn’t allowed on these boards I will edit it out) I know on ebay you can pay $35 to listen to a timeshare talk and then they will give you a couple of tickets to USF but after shipping it works out to $57 and I am sure there are cheaper places. I have no problem listening to a timeshare talk to save some money, I just don’t know where to find them. Help please.

Also, I heard the units don't have washer/dryers
in them (they are in the hallways). Can anyone
tell me how much they cost?

true, washers and dryers are in the hallways, cost a $1.00 last time I was there. Never had any problems with them, though. This is a very nice place, extremely comfortable.

depends what building you are in whether or not you get the washer dryer....

the newer buildings there have washer/dryer combo in the bigger one bedrooms

We just got this as an RCI exchange.
Can you tell me more about this place?

I stayed there last November with my family as an exchange. The commute time to the parks is excellent and we found it very family. We have stayed at Orange Lake, Cypress Pointe Grandvilla and regualr Cypress Pointe and like the Vacation Village better due to location and the newness. The building where we were had a pool, jacuzzi and a wading pool. They were simple, not themed pools, but exceptionally clean and much more quiet than I had expected.

I didn't need the washer/dryer but I did notice it wasn't there.

Sorry I can't remember all the specifics, but I know I'd be happy to stay again.

Here's a link to the other thread where I posted very detailed photos of both types of units (in both old and new buildings) and the common areas. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1868149

FYI...the "old" buildings have been slowly going under refurb as well and once they are done, those too will have washers and dryers in the room. Some of them still have a pantry in the kitchen where the washer/dryer will eventually be. For the buildings that still don't, they do have a wash room on each floor of each building where you can do you laundry-its open 24/7 and just beyond the elevator area.
