Trying to exchange into Orlando...the only thing RCI has right now is Vacation Village at Parkway...any thoughts??? How many pools? Restaurants? Is it really worthy of its Gold Crown status???
Any comments would be great.

We are going to be stsying there in May. I went to trip advisor.com and I would say 90% of the people liked the place. A lot of comments on how clean it is, how close to Disney it is and new resort. Some of the down side were: parking, shaded pool and timeshare sales. I hope more people comment cause I would love to know too!

My friend's brother and his family recently stayed there and really enjoyed it. But, they are not used to "timeshares" where you have more space, etc. so sometimes I think the first time you stay somewhere like that is always a nice change from a hotel/motel.

I'm a little worried because the resort seems so small, a lack of pictures on their website...etc
How does it compare to Sheraton Vistana Resort or Villages??? How many pools do they have???

Tripadvisor.com has lots of pics and reviews. The only thing you really need to be careful about is--if you are getting a 1 BR what side it will be A--larger side with King bed or B--smaller side with queen bed and kitchenette. If your getting a 2 BR then you'll have both sides as it is a lock-off. I'm seriously considering it for my 1/2008 vacation. Small resort--more user friendly than the huge resorts--main compaint is no sun at the pools! And since I fry in FLA sun anyway--as does my son--I appreciate the shade!! Good luck!!:thumbsup2

the way to tell is the Kitchen

RCI will either say full kitchen or partial.

It is the partial you don't want.

I stayed there before and it was lovely. I didn't like my view. and I am spoiled i wanted a restuarant in walking distance. (this place does not have a restuarant). also the gym is in the check in desk which is quite a while from the villas.

now there is a Wendy's in walking distance - but when I was there it was closed.

also it is within walking distance of the 'Arabrian Horses' so go see this - if you can arrange it.

here is a link to their website
http://www.dailymanagementresorts.com/Resort.aspx?resort=5

they only had 2 pools - problem is they are surrounding by the villas - so the pools stay pretty busy.

it is not far at all to WDW.

just turn left (not right like the signs say) go under the bridge (I4) and turn left on to International Drive South - turn left at the next traffic light (this is front of the Gaylord hotels - you can't miss it) - get in the middle lane about a mile - you will see the disney signs.

I'd stay there again in a heartbeat in the A unit. In February, from a distance, I noticed they were building many new structures. Can anyone comment on how the construction is impacting current stays?
