Are there any houses for rent up near the convention center or do they tend to be closer to Disney? My husband's company is looking into renting one for a convention in February.

Thanks!

VR's need to be in a county that allows short term rentals so that means Osceola,Polk and Lake basically and are either south or west of WDW and the main I drive area.Having said that it won't be a bad drive from any community in these counties.

Thanks for the quick reply, Jan! I didn't realize that Orange did not allow short term rentals. I'll see what I can find for them right over the border in Osceola!

Below, I copied a message that I posted awhile back in response to someone's request for information about Vista Cay. It might be helpful to you.

Vista Cay sounds like it's in a good place (between Sea World and the Convention Center, I believe). I've got to be at a conference at the CC in November and thought this might be a good place to stay.

The pictures/floorplans of the townhouses were very nice (3 floors with a one car garage). I'll see if I can find the link and post it here.

This might help some. You can check out the various units with their floorplans. Good luck!

Edited to add: It looks like they've got more units on there now than they did before - not just townhouses but condos too. #3 had a special listed for $125 a night through Nov. 18th for a 3BR/3 1/2 BA townhouse and says the complex is adjacent to the Convention Center. Good luck!

Wow! Thanks SB! Those units are right across the street from the convention center! That's perfect for conventioners traveling with their families (but not conventioners who are looking just to save money by living together a few days). They are fairly expensive compared to some of the units in Osceola...but I guess if they're thinking that companies might pick up the tab...

Anyway, thanks for the information!!

well actually Orange does allow short term, Vista Cay at Harbour Square is a new development within walking distance to the OCCC, and it is short term, I been there and it is amazing (even the clubhouse wasnt ready), but now I saw some pictures of the finished clubhouse and it is wonderfull.
