Vacation package and changing hotels?

How challenging is it to do VP at one hotel (I was looking at the 2-night package with 2 park passes), then switch to another hotel for the remainder of your stay? This is not my first time at TDR, so I'd really only want the package for the benefit of the attraction tickets, especially for FS. Although the included popcorn bucket and unlimited beverage ticket are appealing as well.

Thanks! :)

If both hotels are Disney hotels, then they'll move your luggage to the next hotel for you. Otherwise, you'll have to move it. The hardest part of switching hotels is repacking and unpacking again!

Keep in mind that room-only bookings open much later than vacation package bookings, so your room choices will likely be more limited.

Because of this, I’d choose a VP at a hotel which has better availability at the four-month mark so you won’t have to switch hotels. Remember to book the same category as well; you’d have to change if your category changes, even if it’s at the same hotel. I hate changing, so I did this. If you don’t mind changing, then you’ll have an easier time reserving at least something.

I literally just decided a couple days ago to overhaul my summer travel plans, partly bc I want to go back to TDR and HKDL. Then I realized I'm already within my window for booking packages. When I went last summer I was perfectly happy staying at Ambassador for 4 nights with no VP. But there are packages still available, even at MiraCosta, for my dates, which started me thinking...

I'd likely do VP at MiraCosta then try to get DL Hotel, just to try something different since I haven't stayed at either one yet.

I am also not a fan if changing hotels, but I've never done a VP at TDR, and thought since there's availability that maybe I'd try it. This would probably be a one-time thing to switch hotels though bc there are 2 hotels I'd like to try.

As much as I don't like changing hotels, I do end up doing it a lot on ABD's. So I'm used to it.
