Disney aside, what are some fun vacation spots? We live in Georgia. We normally go to Panama City Beach. However, we only have certain dates we can go this year and the rates are a little more than we want to pay. We talked about a short Disney trip but it's not panning out just yet. I'm looking at other options. I want something fun and relaxing. Perhaps a hotel with a really fun pool, fun sight seeing, etc. We are a family of 4 - dh, me, ds (almost 6), and dd (almost 4).

What about Tennessee? There is Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, then several things in Gatlinburg, or Chattanooga, that has the Aquarium, Ruby Falls, Children's museum as well as other things.

Check out Great Wolf Lodge. Forget the pool - they have an indoor water park. There are several around the country. We went to the one in the Poconos last year and had a great time.

I think you would be pleasantly surprised by the prices for a trip to Europe from Georgia. Whatever you decide, I hope you have a wonderful vacation :wizard:

We've done Chattanooga before. Gatlinburg may be an option. We did that when ds was 6wks old. So, that could be something to look into.

As for Europe, I don't think that will be an option right now. We want to go probably w/in the next month and neither dh nor the kids have passports.

What about the DC area?

My east coast geography is really bad--I'm a gazillion years removed from my last US cultural geography class! Sorry if the distance is horrendous!

What about St. Augustine or Daytona Beach. Both have some great beaches and St. Augustine also has lots of historical sites and shopping.

Bummer :sad2: How about Myrtle Beach? Lots of family fun there! How about Asheville, NC? Lovely town.

I was thinking the same thing. We stayed in Murphy NC and we were going to go there,(Dollywood) but then on vacation DD came down with scarlett fever.
