I am planning a trip to WDW in June, and need info for renting a vacation home in the vicinity of the Formosa Gardens/Windsor Palms area. I would like to be able to see actual pictures of the home that we would rent. Last year I rented a home directly from the owner, and ran into a few problems. If anyone can give me the name of some of the most reputable agents, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for the help!

We have rented from www.closesttodisney.com and while we didn't see pictures we did get an exact description and were very pleased. There is also ************************ there are pictures, etc of the exact place you can view.....I've only read good things about both companies.

Thanks for the help everone! The problems we encountered last year were not enormous by themselves, but an inconvenience when added all together. The house was very nice 4BR in the Formosa Gardens area. The house was as represented nicely furnished, and very close to all Disney attractions, grocery stores, etc. When we arrived, we found crumbs scattered around the house. With crumbs, we found ants. We called the agent responsible for the property to be advised that they must have missed a few crumbs, and where we could locate the vacuum and bug spray. On the third day, we had plumbing problems. All three toilets were backing up due to the septic system. Plumber arrived quickly to fix our problem. During this time, the first week of June, WE GOT RAIN !!! The garage started out with a small steady leak. We called the managing co, with a promise to have someone come check the leak. I forget which day, but one evening during a T-Storm a very significant amount of plaster and water fell from the ceiling of the garage. Okay, this is still not too bad. As you can tell I am an Optimist. On the 8th night of our stay, the smoke detectors went off upstairs and downstairs at 2:00 A.M. No fire, false alarm thank god. The same thing hap-
pened the next night, only thank goodness it happend around midnight, and we were not asleep yet. Explained as a bad connection in the wiring!?! We still had a great ten days in Florida, but this summer I am hoping for a little more peace and quiet. Believe it or not, we have had some great laughs about our adventures.

WOW...and Formosa Gardens is the high rent district in the area. I would imagine there was one frutrated owner of that home. It sounds like basic structural defects rather that the fault of any owner or company and could have happened whether or not it was from an owner or with a company. Actually most all owner owned are "with a company" one way or the other.
Forunately we have had no problems with our home. I can appreciate your concern and wish you the best next trip..Ted
